A sister for Sawyer

SO and I aren’t expecting any time soon, but we’ll be trying within the next year or so and are attempting to come up with name ideas. We have a 5 month old daughter named [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u] [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Essie[/name_f]).

Our top choices for boy names are [name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_m]Fox[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Rudolph[/name_m]. Our top girl name is [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (nn Loey/Lowy/Lowey) and we’re toying with the idea of using [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (my grandmother’s name) as a middle name, but I’m not sure that I’m completely sold on it. I’d like to compile a list of options. Also, we don’t really have a second choice girl name. We’re not fond of “frilly” names like [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]. We would also like to avoid names that start with C as our names are [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] and [name_m]Connor[/name_m].

Other girl names we love include:

I’m open to the idea of passing down my middle name ([name_f]Mae[/name_f]) if we come up with a first name that flows well with it. Our last name is [name_m]German[/name_m] and sounds like “back-wrote”.

I love [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]! Other sugestions:
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]

[name_f]Willow[/name_f] is such a peaceful, earthy and flowy name and is such a joy to say. I love my association with the town [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] and the movie. Lots of little Willows in [name_f]Alaska[/name_f]. We have a friend named [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and she sometimes gets called [name_m]Will[/name_m] or [name_m]Willy[/name_m]. The name being shortened to [name_m]Will[/name_m] or [name_m]Willy[/name_m] is my only reservation with the name. I wouldn’t want my daughter called [name_m]Willy[/name_m]. The nn lowy on the other hand is so cute. So perhaps you will avoid [name_m]Willy[/name_m] with the nn lowy. I think [name_f]Willow[/name_f] goes nicely with [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u].

[name_f]Harlow[/name_f] - Too trendy and sounds rather harsh to me.
[name_f]India[/name_f] - It’s nice but I prefer [name_u]Indiana[/name_u] and like the nn [name_f]Indie[/name_f] for this one
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] - Very pretty and feminine. I like it a lot but seems so different than [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Love[/name_u] this name for a girl! Similar to [name_f]Willow[/name_f] it sounds gentle, earthy and just flows of the tongue so nicely. I would use this name in a heartbeat for a daughter. I think I prefer it to [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but I really like both. [name_f]Ro[/name_f] and RoRo or [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would be cute nns if you wanted. Rawan sounds perfect with [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]! Pick this one LOL
[name_f]Elle[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] (feels too similar to [name_f]Essie[/name_f]) - [name_m]Way[/name_m] too close to [name_f]Essie[/name_f]
[name_f]Autumn[/name_f] - Very pretty
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]/[name_f]Lyla[/name_f] - Very pretty, but again such a different feel from [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], if that matters to you
