A sister for Silas Gray

We’re expecting #2 in [name_f]February[/name_f] and we’re struggling with girl names! Our three year old’s name is [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_u]Gray[/name_u]. If we have a boy our front runner is [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] ([name_m]Mac[/name_m])… no middle name yet.

I’m not entirely certain how to describe our name styles since we’re a little all over the place. I certainly want the baby’s name to have a similar feel to [name_m]Silas[/name_m]'s name. One more thing, my husband and I both have A names so we will not consider an A name for the baby.

I feel like I’ve exhausted all of my brain power to come up with every name that I kinda sorta like and my husband has only agreed to considering a handful. The ones he has had positive reactions to are:

[name_f]Zoey[/name_f]
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Thanks in advance for any help!

Of the names you listed, [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] fit best with [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. The name that immediately springs to mind to be a sister to [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is [name_f]Willa[/name_f].

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] fits the mood, but you may not want to be so matchy with middle names each being a color.

Perhaps…
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

I really like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] & [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] & [name_m]Silas[/name_m].

[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would be my third choice. I love the name [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] but don’t think it fits as well as [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f] with [name_m]Silas[/name_m].

[name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] is such a cute name; congratulations on #2! I love the name [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] as well. I think [name_f]Esme[/name_f] would make an adorable sister to [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. Looking at the names your husband agreed to, he may not like [name_f]Esme[/name_f]; so here are some other suggestions:

[name_f]Mila[/name_f] (could be a nickname for [name_f]Camila[/name_f] or stand by itself)
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u]
[name_u]Remi[/name_u]
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Rory[/name_u])
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u])
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Dell[/name_u], [name_f]Lila[/name_f])
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] (nn [name_f]Edie[/name_f])
[name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Winnie[/name_f])
[name_u]Marley[/name_u]

This list is alllll over the place, but I wanted to give you as many names as I could think of to bring to your husband  Good luck & congratulations!

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is beautiful and, like [name_m]Silas[/name_m], familiar but not common. Timeless. I recently had a student named [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] in one of my classes, and I couldn’t get over what a nice name it was to use on a regular basis.

I think that [name_m]Silas[/name_m] is a fresh, unique name, and the pairing with the middle name [name_u]Gray[/name_u] is just splendid! Finding a name to fit with your first son may be tricky, but I have some suggestions.

I think that for a boy, [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] goes great with [name_m]Silas[/name_m], especially the nickname [name_m]Mac[/name_m]. Since [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is a bit of a longer sounding-name than [name_m]Silas[/name_m], a short, fresh word name like [name_u]Gray[/name_u] would still be perfect. Some suggestions are:
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_u]Wren[/name_u] ([name_u]Wren[/name_u] is a new, up-and-coming short name that works great with [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m]!)
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_u]Day[/name_u]
[name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Hart[/name_m]

For a girl, [name_f]Zoey[/name_f], [name_f]Maya[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] are on the rise and becoming quite popular. I actually know a family with daughters [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] and [name_f]Maya[/name_f]. I feel these names go best with [name_m]Silas[/name_m]. Here are some name combos with them:
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoey[/name_f] [name_f]Kyla[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Maya[/name_f] [name_f]Prudence[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] [name_f]Celia[/name_f]

Lastly, here are some other names that you and your husband may take a liking to, based on what you’ve agreed on so far:

[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Clea[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Aislin[/name_f]
[name_f]Marina[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Maude[/name_f]

Congrats on [name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2! Wishing you all the best and hoping you find a name you love!

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] I believe sounds best. [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] sprung to mind. Also! [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] [name_m]Hale[/name_m]!

Few ideas…
[name_f]Wilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Viola[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
Mieria

[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]Rhys[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]

My favorite on your list is [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]! [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] sound perfect together. Others:

[name_f]Sadie[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
