A topic I started said it needed moderator approval

I tried to start a topic in the “Talk About Names” forum, but it said it needed moderator approval. Is it because I have several hyperlinks in there (which I put in for informational purposes)? If so, try to “approve” it soon because it’s a thread I started in honor of Groundhog [name]Day[/name] (which is today). (By the way, why don’t you trust someone who has hundreds of posts and has been a member for several years from trying to post spam?)

The site automatically rejects most hyperlinks.

I have a question (wish I’d thought about it before I posted): Would it be better to first post without any links, and then edit them in?

I know that [name]Pam[/name] and [name]Linda[/name] wish to keep the boards spam-free, but it is a bit annoying when you’re trying to post something legitimate.

Never tried, but its a clever idea.

Here’s another idea that I used in the several posts with links I made today: Break up the link, like (for the SSA popularity list as an example) socialsecurity (dot) gov/OACT/babynames/ replacing . with (dot) and @ with (at). That way anyone who wants to piece it back together can still go there, but it won’t be clickable directly.
