A twin for Cecily?

Thank you!!!

[name]Adore[/name] [name]Cecily[/name]! Seriously, were I not in love with [name]Cecilia[/name]/[name]Celia[/name], [name]Cecily[/name] would be on my list. If you don’t mind my asking, what is your daughters name?

With [name]Cecily[/name], I see another lacy, freshly lavender tinted name, like [name]Alice[/name] ([name]Sissy[/name] and Lissy!), [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Margot[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], or [name]Adele[/name]. I think all of those would go so well!
[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

Her name is Adelise. It has caught on a [name]LITTLE[/name] bit, but it is still really rare. Actually we spell it differently because at the time I couldn’t find ANYTHING about the name in baby name books or on Google no matter how I spelled it. (She will be 6 this year) I heard the name on a Holocaust documentary, one woman was talking about her sister Adelise, who had died in a camp. Too bad I didn’t have subtitles… lol! We picked her name 3 months before she was even conceived and in that entire year, never found it. I finally found it when she was 2. Adelise is the original name for [name]Alice[/name], so [name]Alice[/name] wouldn’t work. lol

I love [name]Cecily[/name] with your daughter’s name! Seriously, absolutely brilliant. I don’t know why I didn’t notice that until now, maybe it’s just because I’ve recently come to adore [name]Cecilia[/name]. I like @aj_bear’s suggestion of [name]Beatrice[/name]–I think that would fit in really well, and how cute would [name]Addy[/name], [name]Bea[/name], and [name]Cissy[/name] be? I don’t know if you’d use a nn for [name]Cecily[/name], but I think that’s adorable. And you could have A, B, and C.

Erm, I like the idea of these with [name]Addy[/name]'s name, and [name]Cecily[/name]:

[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name] (or Pomeline, although [name]Penelope[/name] fits in better, I think)
[name]Tess[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] ([name]Hattie[/name] would be seriously so cute!)
[name]Henrietta[/name]
[name]Imogen[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]/[name]Violetta[/name]

Good luck!

lol yes the ABC thing has crossed my mind a number of times! LOL It would be a great way to include my daughter in the whole “twin” thing if i actually, by some miracle, had twins. LOL  I love [name]Cissy[/name] as a nick name. My brother use to call me [name]Cissy[/name] when I was little. So i think it is really sweet and could evolve into C.C.

[name]Felicity[/name] is a safe-ish choice. [name]One[/name] I have considered. I really like it, but it feels soooo safe. [name]Juliet[/name] I only like as a twin to my previous love, [name]Guinevere[/name]. LOL! [name]Hazel[/name] is gorgeous but its getting popular now. I love [name]Penny[/name], but not [name]Penelope[/name]. [name]Harriet[/name] isn’t my style and [name]Hattie[/name] and [name]Addy[/name] are too close. :stuck_out_tongue:

Edit to add: Beatrice would need a different nick name if I were to pick that. LOL DDs pet name from my mom is actually Addy Bee. LOL

I don’t know how you feel about repeating letters, but I like [name]Aurelia[/name] with [name]Cecily[/name].
Your daughter’s name is really beautiful, by the way!

[name]Aurelia[/name] is a contender. But I don’t know if [name]Cecily[/name] would feel left out. (I talk as though it’s going to really happen. hahaha)

I could see a few different ways to go:

Tie to the fresh, frosty, glittery snowy feel: [name]Gwyneira[/name] (which is also a bit princess-y) Eirwen or [name]Astrid[/name]/[name]Ingrid[/name], which feel frosty/snowy to me.

Tie to the dreamy, romantic princess feel: [name]Melisande[/name], [name]Gwyneira[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Rosalba[/name]…? I also like [name]Briar[/name] or [name]Briar[/name] [name]Rose[/name], which is tied to Sleeping Beauty (older in the stories than [name]Aurora[/name], which as I understand it was a Disney thing… but I like [name]Aurora[/name] too). [name]Ella[/name]? [name]Cendrillon[/name]?

The B name thing - [name]Bryony[/name], [name]Brigida[/name], [name]Branwen[/name]…? I like [name]Beatrice[/name] a lot though itself. I also like some really obscure ones, like Belphoebe, which is from The Faerie Queene.

Khione - I forgot this because I’ll never be able to use it so I’ve semi put it out of my mind, but it’s the Greek goddess of snow!

What about [name]Cora[/name]? Or [name]Beatrix[/name], instead of [name]Beatrice[/name]?

[name]Rosamund[/name]
[name]Clemence[/name]
[name]Helena[/name]
[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Antonina[/name]
[name]Christabel[/name]
[name]Aurelie[/name]
[name]Augusta[/name]
[name]Leandra[/name]
[name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Cornelia[/name]
[name]Arabella[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Mirabel[/name]
[name]Sabine[/name]

Sorry for any repeat suggestions.

Is it said the way it looks? [name]Fin[/name]-O-la?

[name]Rachel[/name] i’ll look at your list here after a while. I got to go, and just wanted to pop in quickly.

I adore all your name ideas, and really REALLY like your DD’s name. Is it prn like [name]Add[/name]-uh-leese? Pretty:)

I love [name]Cecily[/name]. So pretty and I see what you see. Another name that I get almost that exact picture from is [name]Sylvie[/name]/[name]Sylvia[/name]. Although its a different letter at the beginning, it still starts with the same sound, so you might not be interested. But just wanted to put that out there.

[name]Cecily[/name] and -
[name]Anneliese[/name]
[name]Annika[/name]
[name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Iris[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Arielle[/name]
[name]Ariella[/name]
[name]Carys[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Mavis[/name]
[name]Olive[/name]
[name]Dorothea[/name]
[name]Theodora[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]
[name]Estelle[/name]
[name]Estella[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Sylvia[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Eugenia[/name]
[name]Florence[/name]

Ddhope. Yes that is how you say her name and thank you! [name]Sylvia[/name] is pretty. I really liked it used in the movie “In Time” Previously to that I thought it sounded old. lol It has grown on me though.

Judyariel, I really like [name]Arielle[/name], and [name]Annika[/name]. But then again, i’m not sure if I would want 2 a names, and 1 c.

[name]Rachel[/name], I would probably go with [name]Helena[/name]! But my DHs grandmother it terrible and her name is [name]Helen[/name]. The last thing we want is someone thinking we named after her, even though I don’t say it like “[name]Helen[/name]-ah” [name]Helena[/name] is just gorgeous.

[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Margot[/name] (I’m not a great fan of [name]Margot[/name] but this just came into my head)

That would be awkward, wouldn’t it? Good luck with the naming process!

First up I don’t think it would be a good match to give one twin a frilly name like [name]Aria[/name] and one a sensible name like [name]Cecily[/name] so I would go with

[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Darcy[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Tessa[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Winter[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Willa[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Audra[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Mary[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] nn CiCi and [name]Phillipa[/name] nn [name]Pippa[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Poppy[/name]

rollo

While [name]Cecily[/name] is nms, I have to say I absolutely love your imaginative description of what you imagine little [name]Cecily[/name] to be! Seriously, you have the heart of a writer. And after reading your idea, [name]Cecily[/name] strikes me as a “snowy” name as well. Which is funny, because I definitely get a very “sunny” feel from the names [name]Cecelia[/name] and [name]Celia[/name].
