We just found out that we are adopting twins. We know one is a girl for sureand we plan on naming her [name]Tennille[/name] Kayelynn. Spelling not confurmed yet. We have another girls name pick if Twin B is a gril and that is [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. But we cannot deside on a boys name. We also have three othe children one girl and two boys and there names are Keana [name]Ashley[/name] (g), [name]Jordan[/name] Denational Cawley (b), and [name]Wyatt[/name] [name]Donald[/name] [name]Robert/name. We need a name that doesnt start with a K, J, W, or a T. Help!!!
Is [name]Tennille[/name] a family name for you, or are you [name]Captain[/name] & [name]Tennille[/name] fans? If you decide to go with this name, I would do [name]Tennille[/name] [name]Kaelin[/name]. Honestly, I don’t think [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] works well with this name at all. However, [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] seems to fit in much better with your other kids’ names, especially [name]Jordan[/name]. [name]Both[/name] are names that were popular in the 1990s and are still hanging around, whereas [name]Tennille[/name] (I think this is Australian) is definitely more unusual. I would reconsider using [name]Tennille[/name] as a first name for the girl twin, personally, as it doesn’t blend as well with your kids’ names.
I might suggest using [name]Aliza[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Rebecca[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Emily[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Imogen[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Melody[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], or [name]Valerie[/name] [name]Tennille[/name] as your girl name. [name]Do[/name] any of those appeal to you?
If you use [name]Tennille[/name] as the middle name, I think [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name] sounds nice with [name]Aliza[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], [name]Emily[/name] [name]Tennille[/name], and [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Tennille[/name] (oops, a J name!). These could be great options if both of your twins are girls.
Let me know what you think about this and I can try and find names that work with whatever you choose. Some middle names for your boy that sort of match [name]Tennille[/name] are Athan, Dainan, Eithan, Khya, and [name]Noah[/name] - all Australian like [name]Tennille[/name]. Good luck!
Well, definitely not [name]Captain[/name]! ([name]Just[/name] kidding, just kidding, although I’m guessing I won’t be the only one who associates [name]Tennille[/name] with [name]Captain[/name] and [name]Tennille[/name].)
With your children’s names and the surname [name]Tennille[/name] (I’ve only heard it as a last name), I’d personally go with another surname, although I can also see it paired with something exotic sounding.
Boys:
[name]Archer[/name]
[name]Anderson[/name] (similar to [name]Jordan[/name]'s ending sound, though)
[name]Abbott[/name] (nn [name]Abe[/name])
[name]Bennett[/name]
[name]Baxter[/name]
[name]Donovan[/name]
[name]Darby[/name]
[name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Everett[/name] (Never mind…I forgot about [name]Wyatt[/name]‘s double T ending)
[name]Grant[/name] (T ending, though)
[name]Graham[/name] (although [name]Tennille[/name] reminds me of [name]Captain[/name] and [name]Tennille[/name] and the music industry, and [name]Graham[/name] reminds me of a Grammy Award)
[name]Harrison[/name]
[name]Hudson[/name]
[name]Hayes[/name]
[name]Jude[/name] (not a surname, but I can still picture it with you sons’ names…less so with [name]Tennille[/name], though)
[name]Miller[/name]
[name]Maxfield[/name]
[name]Pierce[/name]
[name]Quinlan[/name]
[name]Reed[/name] (has [name]Tennille[/name]'s long E sound, though)
[name]Sawyer[/name]
[name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Shepherd[/name]
[name]Vaughn[/name]
I’m realizing that the occupational and noun names paired with [name]Tennille[/name] make me think of [name]Captain[/name] and [name]Tennille[/name].
I can also picture [name]Tennille[/name] with something exotic sounding like:
[name]Alaric[/name]
[name]Blaise[/name]
[name]Evander[/name]
Girls’ names:
[name]Ashby[/name]
[name]Bellamy[/name]
[name]Blakely[/name]
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Connelly[/name]
[name]Delaney[/name]
[name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Emery[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Lane[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Quincy[/name]
[name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Waverly[/name]
[name]Willoughby[/name] (Oops! I forgot about the Ws!)
I can also see [name]Tennille[/name] with a name like
[name]Aveline[/name]
[name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Briar[/name]
[name]Meadow[/name]
Good luck!
What about [name]Holden[/name] for a boy? It goes well with [name]Wyatt[/name] and [name]Jordan[/name] i think.
I don’t really think [name]Tennille[/name] and [name]Morgan[/name] are great for twins, but somehow [name]Tennille[/name] [name]Morgan[/name] as one name doesn’t sound bad, and you could use Kayelynn [name]Elizabeth[/name] if the other baby is a girl. Kayelynn and [name]Tennille[/name].
Well I was born in the late 70’s so i dont know the band captain and tennille. The reason I love the name [name]Tennille[/name] is i had a dear friend who was killed in a car accident a few years ago. The name is to honour her. The twins will also be grandchildren number 14 and 15 on my side and 9 and 10 on my husband side so most of the traditional names have already been taken by one of our lovely siblings. We want the babies to have their own names which makes it hard considering all of their soon to be cousins. We are even iffy on Kayelynn since my husbands sister-in-law found out that we are considering it and she threw such a hairbag because it is to much like kathreen (sp i know). Who knew naming twins would be such a hard thing to do
I was born in 1990, so I don’t either, but I have heard the name in passing and I don’t think it is an ideal choice for a first name. That being said, especially with the significance it has for you and your family, might you consider using the name as a middle name? If the babies are BG, you could do something like [name]Tennille[/name] and [name]Tennyson[/name] for middle names, so both could honor your friend. This way, you don’t have to worry about finding another family name. However, if you want to, it is quite easy and fun for us to find variations of family names - either in sound, origin, or meaning - so you could honor a family member without using the exact same name as another family member. For example, [name]Katherine[/name] (I’m assuming this is what Kathreen is meant to be like) means “pure,” as do [name]Agnes[/name], [name]Caitlin[/name], [name]Glenys[/name], [name]Kaelin[/name], [name]Virginia[/name], and even [name]Zacchaeus[/name] for a boy!
P.S. Apparently [name]Tennille[/name] is an alternate spelling of Teneil, a feminine form of [name]Neil[/name] meaning “champion” or “passionate.”
P.P.S. Although I don’t know firsthand how difficult it is to name twins, I am a twin, so perhaps I can offer you perspective and assistance in this matter. I know how important it can be to have names that match not only each other - without being too close - and match the other siblings’ names.

I’m so, so sorry that your friend died, and I think it’s a lovely gesture to honor her memory. Like you, I was born in the 1970s, but I’ve heard of the duo [name]Captain[/name] and [name]Tennille[/name]. (I’m not a fan or anything, but they apparently sang in the 1970s, and are well known to a lot of people.)
While I do think that the name’s meaning to you is far more important than its association with [name]Captain[/name] and [name]Tennille[/name], it’s very likely that your daughter will go through life being asked if she was named after the group. If this isn’t an issue for you, there’s nothing wrong with that, but it was just something to consider.
[name]Do[/name] you like any of the names that have been suggested for [name]Tennille[/name]'s twin so far?
Best wishes to you!
Well we found out today that twin b is a girl. Thank god I dont have to worry about the names [name]Jed[/name] or jethro anymore. There are a few names for the girls that I like but my husband hates so the game is still on. My sister came up with the name [name]Raya[/name] [name]Hope[/name]. I thinks it has a nice flow to it. What do all of you think?
While neither of the names are my personal style, I do think [name]Raya[/name] and [name]Tennille[/name] go well together. [name]Raya[/name] [name]Hope[/name] is nice, but [name]Hope[/name] is quite common … how about [name]Raya[/name] [name]Verity[/name]? Perhaps there are too many Ys … it’s just a suggestion
Good luck!
Are you still absolutely sure about using [name]Tennille[/name] as [name]Baby[/name] A’s first name, or have you given any thought to using it as a middle name? I still think it would make a beautiful middle name, even though, as a first name, it seems far too unusual and incongruous with the names of your other children.
[name]Raya[/name] sounds cute with [name]Jordan[/name] and Keana, a bit off with [name]Wyatt[/name], but pretty good! [name]Raya[/name] [name]Tennille[/name] would be cute, and then you don’t have to use an overused middle name like [name]Hope[/name]…
Here are some more!
[name]Briony[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Abigail[/name]
[name]Arielle[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Adelyn[/name]
[name]Alison[/name]
[name]Madeline[/name]
[name]Mariel[/name]
[name]Mirabel[/name]
[name]Valerie[/name]
My favorites with Keana, [name]Jordan[/name], and [name]Wyatt[/name] are [name]Briony[/name], [name]Arielle[/name], [name]Naomi[/name], [name]Alison[/name], [name]Madeline[/name], and [name]Valerie[/name]!
[name]MADDIE[/name] AND [name]BRI[/name] - [name]Madeline[/name] [name]Ever[/name] and [name]Briony[/name] [name]Tennille[/name] ([name]Ever[/name] means “always,” which could suggest that your friend will always be a part of your life. Thus, both twins could have a piece of your friend in their names.)
[name]ALI[/name] AND [name]VAL[/name] - [name]Alison[/name] [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Valerie[/name] [name]Tennille[/name] ([name]Winter[/name] is for the season of their birth!)
[name]ARI[/name] AND NAY - [name]Arielle[/name] [name]Tevin[/name] and [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Tennille[/name] ([name]Tevin[/name] means beautiful…)
[name]RAYA[/name] AND [name]CARA[/name] - [name]Raya[/name] [name]Dorothy[/name] and [name]Cara[/name] [name]Tennille[/name] ([name]Dorothy[/name] means gift!)
I can see [name]Raya[/name] with [name]Tennille[/name], but [name]Raya[/name] [name]Hope[/name] sounds a bit too much like “ray of hope” to me.
[name]Raya[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Raya[/name] [name]Caroline[/name] (although there’s an actress named [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Rea[/name])
[name]Raya[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Raya[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
More names like [name]Raya[/name]:
[name]Maya[/name]/[name]Maia[/name]
[name]Dara[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Amira[/name]
[name]Kiriah[/name]
[name]Rayna[/name]
[name]Samara[/name]
[name]Shira[/name]
[name]Tova[/name]
[name]Zara[/name]
[name]Shea[/name] also comes to mind…
Good luck!
I guess I’m the golden (or tarnished silver) oldie on here who not only has heard of [name]Captain[/name] & [name]Tennille[/name], but was a humongous fan back in the day. I’ve even met two or three girls who were named [name]Tennille[/name] (or the misspelling Tenille), and I’ve read a [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] fanfiction story with an original character called Tenille. However…much as I rather still like the name…it really is a tad too unusual for me to use as a first name. I’d go with the middle name myself; but I never argue with anyone who wants to use it as a first name. Perhaps your friend (I’m very sorry about your loss) was named for [name]Toni[/name] [name]Tennille[/name].
That said…I don’t think [name]Tennille[/name] as a first name is necessarily any more unusual than Denational as a middle name. That one, I must admit, made me do a double-take. [name]How[/name] is it pronounced? Like “the national”, or with the emphasis on a different syllable, or what? I’m really intrigued, and would love to know where you came up with the name.
