[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I’ve recently been working on a story, set in Northern Michigan, and needed names for a pair of twins.
I’ve settled on [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u] for one twin, but am a little bit stuck on names for her sister, and would really appreciate it if you could help me.
I’d like a name with the usability of [name_f]Eve[/name_f], a name that fits all ages. It should be recognizable, and uncommon, however, it shouldn’t be too uncommon (i.e. [name_u]Poet[/name_u], [name_u]Story[/name_u], etc.)
The middle name should reflect the season of [name_u]November[/name_u] and some of its aspects. If this helps, they were born on the last day of [name_f]October[/name_f].
I was considering [name_u]Rain[/name_u] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f], and I’d also like to know whether this works as a twin sister for [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u]?
To anybody who takes the time out of their day to read this and respond, thank you so much!
That combo is so beautiful omg. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is also one of my favorites! I also like [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] but [name_u]Rain[/name_u] is boring to me compared to [name_f]Eve[/name_f].
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] came to mind. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is pronounced [name_f]Em[/name_f]-ma-lee-uh, not [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I think it would sound great with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u].
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u] is really gorgeous. I like the idea of [name_u]Rain[/name_u] with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] but [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] makes it a little twee especially comparatively (boho word names don’t feel angsty enough next to biblical choice with and a frosty, harsh middle)
I had fun with that haha. Was obviously just a brainstorm and they’d definitely be better when jiggled around tbh, but hopefully some of the firsts/middles might help you out and maybe a combo or two can help locate what you’re after exactly. I like the idea of something Greek or Latinate or mythical just to capture that … epic, saga type feeling. And the whimsy/imagery of a word name always balances that nicely I think. You really got that balance so well with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u] for sure. I like the repetitive sounds too which I always love and works super well for characters I think. So maybe that’s something you could carry on with the twin’s name.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u] is gorgeous. I personally think [name_u]Rain[/name_u] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] is a little wordy/abrupt sounding.
Middle names:
[name_f]Crimson[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabeau[/name_f] (nothing to do with autumn, but it sounds nice with [name_u]November[/name_u])
Harvest
Equinox
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f] (type of apple)
Honeysuckle (it grows from spring into early fall - maybe a stretch?)
Persimmon
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Garnet[/name_f]
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f]
[name_u]Raven[/name_u]
[name_f]Annona[/name_f]
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f]
[name_u]Clove[/name_u]
[name_f]Sienna[/name_f]
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f]
Aluma
[name_f]Pomona[/name_f]
[name_u]Sorrell[/name_u]
[name_f]Crisanta[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u] is sleek and pretty. [name_u]Rain[/name_u] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] is nice but doesn’t strike me as quite right besides it.
I absolutely [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_u]November[/name_u]!! [name_u]Rain[/name_u] [name_f]Orchid[/name_f] feel more trendy/hippie and is too wordy for my liking.
I really like Nell with sister Eve, but I’m having a tough time with the middle - everything just seems a bit contrived compared to Eve November.
Nell Aurelia (golden, like leaves?)
Nell Opal (one of Scorpio’s gemstones)
Nell Ondine (Scorpio is a water sign, Ondine is a water spirit)
Nell Maple (I don’t love it, but another tree/leaf reference; also red is one of Scorpio’s colors)
Nell Scarlett (same as Maple)
Nell Flannery (another red reference)
