Aaron or Aidan?

Help! We are stuck!
I like the Irish roots of [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] and think it’s cute but worried the other spelling [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] is wayyy too trendy right now.
With [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] hubby and I pronounce it differently. I say it like [name_f]Air[/name_f]-in while he says it like Ahh-rin. Also worried it’s too close to my name ( [name_f]Karen[/name_f])

All of the spellings of [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] are quite popular altogether, unfortunately. [name_f]My[/name_f] personal preference is for [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] (pronounced the way you say it), but if you pronounce it differently that might be annoying. [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and [name_f]Karen[/name_f] is also too close for me, I’m afraid. Are there any other names you or your husband like?

Aidan is quite trendy, but I do like it. [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and [name_f]Karen[/name_f] is quite trendy, though

Aaron!

Oops just noticed that [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] rhymes with your name. I would go with [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] then

I like [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]! It is a little popular, but it is also very cute!

Aidan is extremely popular, but I still love the way it looks and sounds! I agree that unfortunately [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] is too similar to your name.

I prefer [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]. I only know one, and he spells it this way and hasn’t had any issues with it. :woman_shrugging:t3:

Also, I agree with this. ^^

I like [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] and it could be a form of honor name for you! Men name their kids the same name as themselves all.the.time and no one says it’s too close. So the rhyming thing is a non-issue for me! (I wouldn’t like it for siblings though).
Good luck!

I love [name_u]Aidan[/name_u]!

I’d say [name_m]Aaron[/name_m] as ahh-run (rhyming with [name_f]Karen[/name_f]) and since you both pn it differently, I’d give it a miss

I prefer [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] of the two.
