What are your opinions on Abel (uh- Bell)?
Any middles?
I like [name_m]Abel[/name_m]. Heās got that Biblical-chic thing going on, like [name_u]Ezra[/name_u], [name_m]Elijah[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] etc, and he seems like a logical jump from the likes of [name_u]Aiden[/name_u] and [name_m]Aaron[/name_m]. Iād consider him if my partner said they were a fan.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] the name [name_m]Abel[/name_m], but pronounced Ā« ay-bull Ā»
Iāve never heard it pronounced this way, donāt like it, sorry.
Iāve only ever heard it pronounced ay-bel, Iām not sure on the Uh-bell pronunciation
Itās a nice name, but like others have said, Iāve only ever heard it said as AY-bull & Iām not totally crazy about the uh-BELL pronunciation.
Not a fan of that pronunciation but I have a huge soft spot for [name_m]Abel[/name_m]. Sure, people bring up the [name_m]Cain[/name_m] and [name_m]Abel[/name_m] thing but a positive perspective is that God was pleased with [name_m]Abel[/name_m]. It is said/implied that he was a man with a good heart, who offered the best he had, etc. Good qualities. Other than that, I just love the soft strength of the name. It may be considered wordy but I love it.
I love [name_m]Abel[/name_m] (ay-bell), but Iāve never heard that pronunciation and Iām not crazy about it either sorry.
Usually quite keen on unusual Bible names, but Abelās not one Iāve ever hugely loved⦠I know you have a Portuguese background; is uh-BELL the pronunciation in European Portuguese? From my limited experience in Portuguese (granted, Brazilian and not European), AY-bull would not be the pronunciation used in [name_u]Brazil[/name_u], so if youāre actually from Portugal, I would imagine it wouldnāt be said that way there, either.
It takes my brain some adjusting to get used to it; itās interesting, but since Iām not terribly crazy about [name_m]Abel[/name_m] in general anyway, the different pronunciation doesnāt really sway me one way or another. Iād be happy to meet an [name_m]Abel[/name_m] but likely wouldnāt use it myself. (Ha, apparently it is a bit like Abeu in [name_u]Brazil[/name_u], which I think I like even more? This name is MUCH more interesting in Portuguese than [name_f]English[/name_f] lol!)
I know an [name_m]Abel[/name_m] pronounced AY-bul. Heās a cool dude. Never heard it pronounced uh-BELL but I suppose that is nice too!
I like the name! Iāve heard it said AY-bull and ah-BELL (long āawwā sound as in saw) but never with an āuhā beginning.
Maybeā¦

[name_m]Abel[/name_m] [name_u]Keaton[/name_u]
Iāve always heard it pronounced ay-bull which I donāt like because it sounds like able. This pronunciation sounds more feminine but I like it a little better.

[name_m]Abel[/name_m] [name_m]Augustus[/name_m]
I think of the word āableā & ableism. If I met one I would intuitively say it as āableā.
yes, the different pronounciation is due to the fact that im portuguese so the name is pronounced in fact like Abeu⦠i also really like the english way of saying it but it wouldnt work at all where I live
I really love Abel Santiago thank you so much
. Portuguese is fascinating lol. I like āAbeuā much more than [name_m]Abel[/name_m] in [name_f]English[/name_f], if Iām being honestāIād love to meet a little Portuguese [name_m]Abel[/name_m]!
