Abhra.

Hey guys! I’m eighteen years old and I don’t ever want to have children, but I’m an aspiring writer and that’s why I’m here, it’s really useful for finding names for characters.

Last year, I wavered a little and thought for a little while that maybe I did want kids, (before I changed my mind again.) And I really, really like the name Abhra. It’s an [name_f]Indian[/name_f] name, and it means “cloud”. People from the UK will probably know the series “[name_f]Stella[/name_f]”, written by [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_m]Jones[/name_m]. That’s where I first heard the name Abhra and I fell in love with it.

It is a boy’s name, and I just really love it. What are your opinions on it?

Thank you!

I love it! It sounds beautiful and has a beautiful meaning. Also easy to pronounce.

I like it, and the meaning is nice. Most people would probably spell it without the H on first try, but that’s quick to explain.
Also reminds me a little of the phrase “[name_f]Abra[/name_f]-Kadabra”, but I don’t know if that’s a thing in [name_m]Britain[/name_m]…?

I like it a lot. It does remind me of the magician’s phrase Abracadabra

I agree that it does sound like abracadabra, but I just think it’s such a beautiful name that I don’t even mind. I’m so glad that you guys like it too! xx

I don’t know how to pronounce it so that leaves me not liking it.

I immediately associated it with the name [name_m]Abraham[/name_m]. If I heard a little boy be called Abhra, I’d assume it was a nickname for [name_m]Abraham[/name_m]

Well, do you know how to pronounce “abracadabra”? It’s the same as the ‘abra’ part of that.
