Abigail?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! I’ve recently decided to make my name list a bit less crazy, and have narrowed down the first name section to:

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]

However, I’m considering adding [name_f]Abigail[/name_f]. But does it fit with the rest of the names in the first name section? Based on this: http://www.britishbabynames.com/blog/top-1000-names-in-england-and-wales-2014.html [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] is number 46 in the UK for popularity. All of the other names in the first name section are as follows:

[name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]- not in top 1000
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f]- #132
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]- #255
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f]- #814
[name_f]Liberty[/name_f]- #370
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]- #294

So as you can see, [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] is a lot more common. But, I love the name! Are there any names similar to [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] that are less common? Thanks!

I love your name choices, especially [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]! I think [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] would fit with them although it is much more common as the style and the sounds match well and it is a lovely name. I know a lot of Abigails but all except one are called [name_u]Abby[/name_u] so if she went by her full name or by [name_f]Gail[/name_f]/[name_u]Gale[/name_u] instead it would probably seem less common than you’d think.

If the popularity bothers you though, my first thought was [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] which shares a main sound with [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] I think fits beautifuly with [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] is quite lovely and under appreciated.

I would also suggest [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] as less popular alternatives that seem to fit in style.

I say add it! [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] is a beautiful classic.
