Accidental Associations?

There are many ways names can be tied together, whether purposely and knowingly or accidental and unknown. This can happen for all kinds of names, but I’m putting this here because I found that this happens to me moreso with girl’s names than with boy’s names. Have you ever gone on your list of names you like then made a sudden realization or looked at a list that made you realize that some of the names you like are connected, but not purposefully? I have three examples for mine.

One day I was thinking about things when I suddenly realized that some of the names I like, including [name_u]Kendall[/name_u] (which I had a friend with the name) and [name_f]Kylie[/name_f] (which I liked because it was similar to my cousins name but with the k sound like mine) were both part of the Kardashian/Jenner trend. I also used to have [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] (with a C, not a K) on my list too, not to say I don’t like the name just over the years I’ve found names I like even more. Now, considering this was when I was in middle school and looking back upon it, it’s funny to see how they ended up being related. This isn’t to say that I can’t use the names at all, but just if I were to name two of my children those names at this point in time I would likely have the association with them, which wouldn’t be purposeful (I know of them but don’t like follow them or watch their show but I think you get what I mean).

Another example is with horror names. Being the scardy-cat that I am, it’s safe to say that this was not intentional on my part or known by me either til I either saw lists that included names that I liked on them or under the associations on their name pages. Some of these names, including a few of my favorite names, include [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], [name_u]Regan[/name_u], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (and I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is too though I’m not 100% sure). Now honestly I don’t think that this would be as recognizable as my first example, but I still find it funny how, unknown to me, some of my favorite names were of those who were highlighted characters in horror films. Once again, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but not intentional, as I can’t usually sit through a whole horror film.

One other example is once again completely unintentional, but I like the names [name_u]Kay[/name_u] (preferably as a middle name, gotten from one of my friends grandparents) and [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] (from Greek mythology). I’ve liked these names for a while until just a few weeks ago I realized they’re both jewelry stores! I love both of these names but I wouldn’t want my partner or my friends getting the wrong message and thinking that I wanted to name them after jewelry stores on purpose or that I want someone to buy me jewelry.

I’ve shared a few of my stories. Have any of you guys figured out something like this with names that you or someone you know likes or have used that were accidentally related unknowingly? I’d love to hear the other ones to see if/what others have found like me
