Accidental honour name?

I have loved the name [name_u]James[/name_u] for as long as I can remember. It’s traditional, religious, and sophisticated. There isn’t anything I don’t love about it - it seems like the perfect name in every way.

There’s just one problem - it’s my cousin’s name.

He’s twelve years older than me and we’ve never been particularly close, but I come from quite a tight-knit family and worry I would be offending my aunt if I used the name [name_u]James[/name_u] in the first name spot.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it’s unusable as a first name due to family ties?

[name_u]James[/name_u] is super common and there are millions of little james’ running around so no its not unusable

I agree with the previous poster. [name_u]James[/name_u] is so common I wouldn’t bat an eye if it was my name and someone else in the family used it.

I don’t think it’s an issue. Like previous posters have said, its not an unusual name. Had it been very unusual, maybe I would have a different answer but with [name_u]James[/name_u] I think it is fine to use it.
