[name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f]! Gorgeous, spunky and uncommon. Second favorite (far behind [name_f]Ada[/name_f]) is [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] then [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is becoming way too common (so many [name_f]Addie[/name_f]'s!!); also it sounds too much like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is alright but it rhymes too much with lemonade. Good luck!
I adore the butt off [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f]. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is pretty but [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] sounds more feminine. To me, [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] is vintage in a soft, quiet way. I can see it fitting a little girl just as well as it suits an older woman. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is wonderful too but overall [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] is the best of the three
I like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] by itself. I don’t really care for [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f].
I love both [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but right now I’m really liking the short, feisty, storybook heroine feel of [name_f]Ada[/name_f], so that’s my pick.
My favourite is [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], followed by [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]!
I adore [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is spunky, charming, beautiful, lively, playful, … I am not fond of the sound or look of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Ada[/name_f] but it isn’t a name, personally, that feels like The One.
I very much like all three, but I picked [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. I like how short and sweet it is. I can see it on any type of girl or woman, and it sounds both contemporary and classic.
With both [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], I think there’s a good chance they would get shortened down to [name_f]Addy[/name_f], which is a sweet nickname, but one I hear quite a lot, and which doesn’t have quite the character of the full names. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] on the other hand, will just be [name_f]Ada[/name_f]!
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] feels a bit too much like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], and people could easily mishear. I kind of like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] as a name, but it doesn’t have much substance and actually, contrary to the views of the previous response, I feel that if people like nicknames, they will give people nicknames, and with [name_f]Ada[/name_f], it will certainly be [name_f]Addy[/name_f]. That is OK if you like [name_f]Addy[/name_f], but…
However, I love love love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! It has lovely associations (though I may be biased, my parents grew up in [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], and I’ve always associated Australia with visits to Grandparents, and much better weather than back home in [name_f]England[/name_f]), and has some for interesting options for nicknames - [name_f]Dee[/name_f], [name_f]Delli[/name_f], [name_f]Ally[/name_f], [name_f]Laia[/name_f] (like starwars, never can remember spelling) as well as [name_f]Addy[/name_f]. It’s also less common but definitely works well.
Alternatively, you could always shorten one of the longer names to Ada, but keep the possibilities open for other nicknames etc as time grows on.
Good luck with whatever your choice!
