My instinct is to say it like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] with a d but the ah-da (like the alternate [name_f]Anna[/name_f] prn.) pronunciation makes sense to me and was the second one I thought of. If it was like add-a then I think spelling it like [name_f]Adda[/name_f] would make more sense. I personally prefer the [name_f]Ava[/name_f] with a d pronunciation.
I always say it Aye-da, with the long A sound at the beginning.
I pronounce it ay-də and have only heard this pronunciation.
I have only said aye-da.
I don’t think add-a works very well with that spelling, since the first A should be long and therefore it’s not as natural to say add-a unless you spell it [name_f]Adda[/name_f]. “Ahh-da” I would spell as [name_f]Auda[/name_f].
I say it like Aye-da.
For [name_m]Add[/name_m]-a I would spell it [name_f]Adda[/name_f] (like [name_f]Addy[/name_f] but ending with an -a)
I assumed the “aye” is the “from A to B” pronounciation, because “aye” looks like it should be pronounced “eye”. Really just me being nit-picky. I’ve never met anyone who pronounced [name_f]Ada[/name_f] AHR-duh or [name_m]ADD[/name_m]-uh, and I certainly don’t. But the other pronounciations make sense in the context of other languages.
I have only heard [name_f]Ada[/name_f] pronounced AY-da, but [name_f]Adah[/name_f] pronounced [name_m]AH[/name_m]-da/adda
In English, I say Ay-da, in German Ah-da. For Add-a I’d go with either Adda, Edda or in the States even Etta (unless you live some place where they aren’t pronounced the same).
I pronounce it like Ahh-da, but Europeans do tend to pronounce thing differently than you do, though. My favorite prn. is the way I say it and I personally dislike Aye-da.
I say it like ay-duh / [name_f]Ava[/name_f]-with-a-d. I don’t think ah-duh would be an invalid pronunciation, but I’m not sure about add-uh. There is Atta, though…
aye-da looks like [name_f]Ida[/name_f] to me, so I almost voted other before reading closer and realizing you meant ay-da (long A). [name_m]Just[/name_m] letting you know might throw off polling…
I say Ay-dah instinctively, but I think ah-dah works. add-a would surprise me with this spelling.
[name_f]Aida[/name_f] is another long A spelling.
Oh guess not since no one voted other!
A duh. Aye duh would sound more like I duh.
