I’ve always liked [name]Ada[/name] and it’s always been on my middle name list but lately I’ve been crushing on it and have started to think of it as a first name. WDYT of this name and what middle name would you pair with it?
There’s actually a girl I know whose name is [name]Ada[/name] [name]Lilia[/name] which I think sounds really sweet and just loved it the moment I heard it so [name]Lilia[/name] is the oy middle name I can think of
I know a little [name]Ada[/name] whose middle name is [name]Violet[/name]. It suits her perfectly–love the name on a little girl! So many middle names could go with it–I’m definitely leaning toward the slightly longer ones. A few suggestions:
[name]Love[/name] it and always have even before it started becoming a viable option again. It can be paired with a slightly longer middle name since it a single syllable.
I love [name]Ada[/name], on its own and as a nickname for [name]Adela[/name]/[name]Adelia[/name]. My favorite combo is [name]Ada[/name] [name]Virginia[/name].
I prefer the Spanish ODD-uh to the English AID-uh, but both are pleasant.
I like [name]Ada[/name] [name]Sabine[/name], or [name]Ada[/name] [name]Joelle[/name], or most two-syllable names with the accent on the second syllable, like [name]Tamar[/name], or [name]Esme[/name], or [name]Raquel[/name].
It seems that their are several pronunciations of [name]Ada[/name] - I was only ever aware of the one and therefore pronounce this name ay-duh. Thanks for all of the feedback, it’s good to hear everyone’s views on the name.
My little girl’s name is [name]Ada[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]. It suits her perfectly! I was a bit hesitant to choose her name (my husband has always wanted ‘[name]Ada[/name]’ because of the [name]Ada[/name] Lovelace connection) but I wasn’t sure until I saw her. I was worried about it being an ‘old lady’ name but now that she has that name I can’t imagine her as anything else. She is a spunky 8 month old. Determined, adventurous, stubborn, funny, independent, silly, happy, and very much a ‘character’ as described by those who know her.
Good luck in your choice! I have NO idea what I’m going to name #2 when they come along.
I prefer [name]Ava[/name], but [name]Ada[/name] is the name of a very commendable g-g-aunt who raised her young siblings after their mother died, so…gotta love that.
I love it. My great-grandmother has told me many wonderful stories about her grandmother [name]Ada[/name] [name]Belle[/name] that have given the name a lot of meaning for me. [name]Ada[/name] is surprisingly underused given the popularity of [name]Ava[/name].
[name]Ada[/name] is pronounced AY-duh. [name]Adah[/name] is pronounced [name]AH[/name]-duh (with the short “a” sound).
I like it, but would avoid using any middle names that start with a vowel or end in an -a in order to avoid sounding like you have marbles in your mouth.
[name]Ada[/name] [name]Jane[/name] (nice for a longer last name)
[name]Ada[/name] [name]Madeleine[/name]
[name]Ada[/name] [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Ada[/name] [name]Frances[/name]
[name]Ada[/name] [name]Blair[/name]
