Adah as a sister for Avah

[name_f]Adah[/name_f] as a sister name for [name_f]Avah[/name_f]? Too close? Im losing my mind trying to think of a different name to replace [name_f]Anaiyah[/name_f] (pronounced Aneya)
Brothers are [name_m]Jacob[/name_m] and [name_u]Noah[/name_u].

If they are sisters, then unfortunately yes. I think it would get confusing often.

What do you think of [name_f]Adele[/name_f]? Adeline/Adalyn? [name_f]Adina[/name_f]?

They are super matchy, but actually sound wise I could see them working.

Mainly because I pronounce the first ‘a’ sound differently. [name_f]Adah[/name_f] I would say ‘aa’ like apple, [name_f]Avah[/name_f] I say ‘aye’ like apricot.

So if the super matchy look doesnt bother you, I think it could work.

I don’t mind names that are somewhat matchy, but I do think [name_f]Adah[/name_f] and [name_f]Avah[/name_f] are just too similar, to the point where it’s less cute and more just cheesy with quite a bit of potential for confusion and mix-ups, sorry! If you like A names for girls, maybe [name_f]Autumn[/name_f], [name_u]Aria[/name_u], [name_f]Ariana[/name_f], [name_f]Acacia[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] could be nice with [name_f]Avah[/name_f]! With [name_m]Jacob[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u] and [name_f]Avah[/name_f] I’d also recommend [name_f]Belle[/name_f], [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_u]Frankie[/name_u], [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_f]Kaia[/name_f], [name_f]Liv[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_f]Louella[/name_f], [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you say [name_f]Adah[/name_f] as ‘Ah-duh’ or ‘Ay-duh’ or another way? And [name_f]Avah[/name_f] as ‘Ay-vuh’?

For me, they are too close, but if that first sound is different, it might work.

Instead of [name_f]Anaiyah[/name_f], I’d suggest:

[name_f]Azaria[/name_f] / [name_u]Azariah[/name_u]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f] / [name_f]Zarah[/name_f] / [name_f]Zahra[/name_f]
[name_f]Raya[/name_f]
[name_f]Keziah[/name_f]
[name_f]Iscah[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_u]Micaiah[/name_u]
[name_f]Selah[/name_f]
[name_u]Ziah[/name_u]

[name_m]Way[/name_m] too close. That looks like it would be so confusing, too. Both lovely names, but they don’t suit sisters.

Too close. I’d mix them up every day. How about [name_u]Eden[/name_u]?

[name_f]Adah[/name_f] and [name_f]Avah[/name_f] are too close.

What about [name_u]Aria[/name_u], [name_f]Layla[/name_f], or [name_f]Reyna[/name_f]? They have some of the same sounds as those other names.

In my opinion they are definitely way too close for sisters. What about [name_f]Adira[/name_f]?

Unfortunately, way too close for sisters.
Perhaps you’d like [name_f]Amaya[/name_f] or [name_f]Amira[/name_f]?

Too close.

If you’re in the UK, I think the [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] spelling will get you the pronunciation you want.

I like [name_f]Reyna[/name_f]

Thanks yes im in the UK, so out of [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] and [name_f]Anaiah[/name_f] which do u think sounds more like the “ay” sound in the middle?
Trying to avoid the “eye” sound

Yes, I think those are way too close. What about [name_f]Zara[/name_f]?

First one. I think most people will instinctively say that how you would like it. Keeping it simple is the best bet.

I agree they’re too similar but not because of sound, because there’s only one letter difference between them I see paperwork could be easily confused (at the pediatricians office or school for example). I would pronounce both [name_f]Anaya[/name_f] and [name_f]Anaiah[/name_f] with the “eye” sound but I’m in the US so take that for what it’s worth.

I second [name_u]Eden[/name_u]! [name_u]Or[/name_u] consider
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
Mariah/Moriah
[name_f]Leila[/name_f]
Natalia(h)

Thank u all for your thoughts.
This name thing is harder than picking my wedding dress!
Ok please can i get your honest opinions on what name u think is best

  1. Anaya (pronounced with the ay sound in the middle)
  2. Anaiah (pronounced with the eye sound in the middle)
  3. Naya (with the eye sound)
  4. Nayla/Anayla (pronounced with the ay sound in the middle)
  5. Reyna
  6. Brielle
  7. Noriah

P.s i love the names Evah, Amelia, Isobella and Anabella but cannot use them)

Siblings names are Jacob, Noah and Avah.

Thanks all
