For the longest time I wanted to name my little girl, if that’s what I have, Maybree. [name_f]Mabry[/name_f] is my Maden name, but I wanted to change the spelling because several people would miss pronouce [name_f]Mabry[/name_f] through out my life, and Maybree felt more feminine to me.
But then my husband thought of [name_f]Adalie[/name_f], pronounced [name_m]Ad[/name_m]-ah-lee, because it mixed with our names, [name_m]Adam[/name_m] and [name_u]Ali[/name_u]. My husband who rarely cares about things like that, loved this name! So I decided Maybree would be put on the back burner unless we had ended up having two girls (for which my husband looked terrified and said don’t joke about that. Haha!)
So I have come up with [name_f]Adalie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. I mentioned it to my husband and he smiled as he said it. But I wanted to know what every one else thought about [name_f]Kate[/name_f] being a middle name. [name_f]Adalie[/name_f] is different, and so I wanted a shorter common, but not common, middle name. Thoughs?!
[name_f]Adalie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is great. I actually know three little girls with the middle name [name_f]Kate[/name_f] (not [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], just [name_f]Kate[/name_f]) so I think it’s totally fine!
I love it, too! I love a lot of [name_m]Ad[/name_m]- names ([name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], Adalise, [name_f]Adelia[/name_f], [name_f]Adaya[/name_f], [name_f]Adara[/name_f], [name_f]Adira[/name_f], etc.!), and [name_f]Adelie[/name_f]/[name_f]Adalie[/name_f] has never been super high on that list, but I’ve always loved the sound, and the significance of [name_f]Adalie[/name_f] for you is so, so adorable! I love the sound (and look) of [name_f]Adalie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], and it seems like a real winner to me! I am not a huge fan of the name [name_f]Mabry[/name_f]/Maebry/Maybree, personally, but I can appreciate that it’s your maiden name and that is something that could be nice to pass on! Have you thought about doing two middle names? I only say this as someone who is massively in love with the idea. And if you’re surname isn’t eons long, (like Wlasniewsky-Botticelli!), I think [name_f]Adalie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_f]Mabry[/name_f] [surname] could be a really nice option.
I have Maebry [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] on my short list. [name_f]Mabry[/name_f] is an honor name for us. I chose the Maebry spelling because I found it much more charming. Not fond of the Maybree spelling. Maebry [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Adalie[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] are both very charming, sweet, and spunky.
