Hello everybody! This will be my first post on nameberry, I’m a new member…but a long time reader. I am almost at 40 weeks with my second girl, and we cannot decide on a name!
My daughters name is [name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Marie[/name].
I really love [name]Adalynn[/name] (ay-duh-lynn) but everyone seems to be pronouncing it with the begining of “adda-lynn” which is very irritating.
My boyfriend, loves brynn.
We also seem to enjoy [name]Tristan[/name].
I need pros-cons and maybe other names that would be comparable to [name]Adalynn[/name].
Any help is appreciated!
If a common pronunciation really irritates you, I would avoid [name]Adalynn[/name]. FWIW, the “-lyn” names are all very trendy so for that reason, this name is not my style.
[name]Tristan[/name] is 100% a boy’s name, in my opinion.
[name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Marie[/name] is lovely!
I would avoid [name]Adalynn[/name], then – I also thought it was said [name]ADD[/name]-uh-lin.
I think [name]Brynn[/name] is cute! So is [name]Wynn[/name]. As for [name]Tristan[/name], that is a boys’ name. I do know a girl named [name]Tristen[/name], but I honestly don’t like it one bit. It sounds so harsh, jagged, and bitter to me for a girl.
[name]How[/name] are:

Like any? I hope that helps!
I love aurora, NN rori.
Was also thinking having ada as a first and lynn as a middle. The decisions seem all so hard!
I’m sure when we see her we will be able to choose the right name…I am hoping anyway!
I knew a little Tristany.
Have you considered:
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Everly[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Pauline[/name]
[name]Gwendolyn[/name]
[name]Gwendaline[/name]
[name]Addison[/name]
[name]Madaline[/name]
Addalina
I actually love Tristany [name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Adalynn[/name] seems trendy and made up and I think everyone will prn is [name]Adda[/name]-lyn. [name]Brynn[/name] is cute but a little plain next to [name]Gabrielle[/name]. I love [name]Ada[/name] though, so cute and spunky. If you name her [name]Ada[/name] [name]Lynn[/name] then you can still call her by both names.
Others you might like:
[name]Brenna[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Thalia[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]
[name]Emilia[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Katarina[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
I knew it was ay-duh-lynn when I saw it. I have an [name]Emmeline[/name] with the -lynn pronunciation and I have to correct people but I like the name so much that it doesn’t bother me. I think [name]Adalynn[/name] is very pretty- if you don’t mind correcting people and you love it then you should use it.
