So, my favorite girl name has always been [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. I’ve been in love with it for as long as I can remember. It’s so simple and beautiful.
[name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s name just happens to be (you guessed it), [name_m]Adam[/name_m]. Is this a huge no-no? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the joke would eventually fade or will I have to leave my favorite name in the dust…
I think you will get a lot of jokes, but it depends upon how much that bothers you and how much you think it will bother your little one. If you truly truly love it, maybe you should use it, but just be aware that there will be a lot of jokes and a lot of people will think it is odd. Maybe you could use [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Neve[/name_f], something like that?
I agree with Nooshi…I think you’ll get jokes…you just have to decide how much it bothers you. Maybe you and your husband can find a name you both love and use [name_f]Eve[/name_f] as her middle name.
I’d use an [name_f]Eve[/name_f] variant like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] or a name that contains [name_f]Eve[/name_f] so you could have the nickname ‘[name_f]Eve[/name_f]’ but with a name that doesn’t seem obvious with [name_m]Adam[/name_m] & [name_f]Eve[/name_f] like for example [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] etc. I think just using [name_f]Eve[/name_f] would be too obvious with [name_m]Adam[/name_m].
I agree, use an [name_f]Eve[/name_f] variant. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] might still be too close so I would go for [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] or one of the less obvious ones… [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is also a gorgeous middle.
I think all [name_f]Eve[/name_f]'s and [name_f]Eva[/name_f]'s get jokes about apples and [name_m]Adams[/name_m] eventually!
I think [name_m]Adam[/name_m] / [name_f]Eve[/name_f] as rather and daughter would be fine fine. However, I wouldn’t advise you to have a little [name_m]Adam[/name_m] [name_m]Jr[/name_m]!
I know it’s late, but I found this interesting and wanted to weigh in. Honestly, it makes me uncomfortable just because of the nature of [name_m]Adam[/name_m] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f]'s relationship. If my husband’s name was [name_m]Romeo[/name_m], I would not name my daughter [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. I’m sorry, just my opinion. Obviously lots of others think it’s fine.
I kind of agree with [name_f]Amy[/name_f]. I’d pick something else entirely. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is a lovely name, but with a husband named [name_m]Adam[/name_m], I wouldn’t use it.
