I’m thinking of adding these boys’ names to my list. Care to critique? I don’t mind if you’re harsh about it. I like all kinds of opinions to go off of! What do they make you think of?
[name]Dorian[/name]
[name]Raleigh[/name]
[name]Orson[/name]
[name]Calvin[/name]
[name]Dimitri[/name]
[name]Rigby[/name]
[name]Brand[/name]/[name]Rand[/name]
[name]Alban[/name]
[name]Dorian[/name]: I love this one! So handsome and charming. I vote yes.
[name]Raleigh[/name]: [name]One[/name] of my favourite place names. Very unique and fresh. I vote yes.
[name]Orson[/name]: This one is cute, though it doesn’t do much for me. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it though, so I vote yes.
[name]Calvin[/name]: I adore this! So, so cute, yet very handsome too. It’s all-around awesome. I vote yes.
[name]Dimitri[/name]: Very uncommon and cool. My best friend considered this for her first son but went with [name]Dominic[/name] instead. I do like [name]Dimitri[/name] though. I vote yes.
[name]Rigby[/name]: This is very cute! It reminds me of a clothing store in my city which I believe has a very similar name. I do like it though! I vote yes.
[name]Brand[/name]/[name]Rand[/name]: [name]Brand[/name] sounds like someone paused while saying [name]Brandon[/name], and [name]Rand[/name] sound likes someone was saying [name]Randall[/name]. They are both very unique and rather handsome, but I wouldn’t actually use either of them. I vote no.
[name]Alban[/name]: Same as [name]Orson[/name]; there’s nothing wrong with it, but it just doesn’t do much for me. All the say, I’ll vote yes.
[name]Dorian[/name] - one of my absolute favorite boys names.
[name]Raleigh[/name] - really dislike this! too place name-y!
[name]Orson[/name] - not sure how i feel about this one. i overwhelmingly picture [name]Orson[/name] Welles, though, and therefore have trouble imagining a little boy or teenager with this name.
[name]Calvin[/name] - really growing on me lately.
[name]Dimitri[/name] - would only use if you’re of Russian heritage. otherwise, it would seem odd to me.
[name]Rigby[/name] - eh…maybe as a middle name? too surname-y.
[name]Brand[/name]/[name]Rand[/name] - no! brand - absolutely not. rand…also surname-y. and i’m not into rand paul, and it makes me think of him.
[name]Alban[/name] - nah. just kind of blah.
Thanks for the feedback, berries! Looks like you guys have very different opinions on most of them. I know some names like [name]Orson[/name] and [name]Rigby[/name] are either love it or hate it.
[name]Dorian[/name] - I always forget about this name. It seems to slip under my radar, but I really like it a lot!
[name]Raleigh[/name] - Not a huge a fan of it. I always want to pronounce it wrong.
[name]Orson[/name] - I like the meaning of [name]Orson[/name], but don’t love the name as a whole. I think it reminds me too much of the french word ourson.
[name]Calvin[/name] - Always seemed dorky to me.
[name]Dimitri[/name] - I love [name]Dimitri[/name]. My favorite on your list.
[name]Rigby[/name] - Not my cup of tea.
[name]Brand[/name]/[name]Rand[/name] - I like [name]Bran[/name] but not [name]Brand[/name]. I also really like [name]Rand[/name] because it reminds me of the character from The Wheel of Time novels.
[name]Alban[/name] - There is a hick town nearby named [name]Alban[/name], so it doesn’t appeal to me.
I like [name]Calvin[/name], [name]Orson[/name] and [name]Alban[/name].
[name]Dorian[/name] is cool… My only hesitation about that name is that [name]Dori[/name] is a girls name (at least where I’m from), so that nickname might not be desirable. Right off the bat when I read [name]Rigby[/name] I thought of “Rigsby,” [name]Henry[/name] Huggins’ dog in the [name]Ramona[/name] and Beezus books by [name]Beverly[/name] [name]Cleary[/name] (and also [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Rigby[/name] by the Beatles). That’s not to say it’s a negative thing, just thought I’d mention it.
Thanks for the input! Hmmm I hadn’t really thought of nicknames. [name]Dori[/name] doesn’t sound so great. Lol and I like [name]Bran[/name] too, uselesskitty, thanks for bringing it to my attention!
