Addyson Grayce Skynner

My co-worker wants to name her baby due next month
[name]Addyson[/name] [name]Grayce[/name] Skynner.
Yesterday she asked me if I thought it was cute or too much…today I am asking you.

[name]Way[/name], way too much. [name]Addyson[/name] [name]Grayce[/name] is ridiculous, and then combined with Skynner? The “y” in their last name would be enough to restrain me from having it in the first name, let alone the middle! These superfluous/replacement Ys everyone keeps adding to names to make them “unique” is so flipping annoying. Sorry!!

[name]Elsie[/name] I agree whole heartedly…the name killed me! But, I didn’t know how to be nice about it. Ugh!

I would have no problem with [name]Addison[/name] [name]Grace[/name] Skynner - I think that’s really pretty. But “y”'s in each name - ugh!!! I hope she changes her mind. I know of an [name]Emerson[/name] spelled “[name]Emersyn[/name]”. What do you think of that?

My friend thinks the Y thing is adorable. When she asked if I liked it I said it would mispelled all the time and might be a little much, but I think she is still going for it to be “[name]Unique[/name]”.

Well at least there is an easy fix – loose the y in the first and middle name.

That’s taking a theme too far. [name]Addison[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is just fine. (Assuming Skynner is the last name)

jem (mind if i call you that?)

I just had to laugh when I read this, btw…“she asked me this yesterday…today I am asking you.” It was hilarious.

Its funny you knew to call me [name]JEM[/name], I am in the [name]JEM[/name] in the SCMJEM. My hubby is the SCM.

Haha-yes, I knew my name berry friends would be amused by this!

I agree with everyone else that [name]Addison[/name] [name]Grace[/name] would be just fine, assuming that your friend knows and feels ok with the fact that these names are incredibly popular and trendy right now. However, the misspellings using “Y” is actually really tacky in my opinion. You’re right in telling her that it would get misspelled all the time, and it’s just not classy.

[name]Just[/name] wanted to point this out: [name]Addyson[/name] ranked #226 last year in '09… Maybe you could tell her that it’s not really that “unique” and suggest [name]Adela[/name], [name]Adele[/name], [name]Adeline[/name], or [name]Adelaide[/name] (all of these are actually more uncommon)…?

Look on the bright side, at least it isn’t Ahdyssynne Grreyzze… :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh yes, I too agree that [name]Addison[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is just fine.

I know someone who named her son “[name]Gavyn[/name].” Ugh!

LMAO cecily, just saw your post too lol!!! Yes, we should count our blessings it’s not spelled that way!

cecily- Good Point! Thanks! I will let het know…who knew [name]Addyson[/name] would be up there that high.!?!

I definitely agree with the classy comment. [name]Grace[/name] just oozes class, and immediately makes me think of ballerinas and [name]Grace[/name] [name]Kelly[/name]. [name]Grayce[/name], on the other hand, screams “My parents have not yet mastered spelling in the English language”

[name]Addyson[/name] is a cute name… but with Skynner! And all the Ys! Think of the poor kid! [name]Brianna[/name] [name]June[/name] is much better.

[name]Amen[/name]!

I have one question for this woman- Y?

[name]Addison[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is cute.

About the y’s, I have an acquaintance with 4 children, all very close together. She is all about the y’s! She has a Madicyn [name]Grayce[/name], [name]Sydney[/name] [name]Jayne[/name], [name]Kaycie[/name] [name]Maya[/name], and [name]Braydyn[/name] [name]Cayleb[/name].

If these names were spelled normally, they’d be wonderful choices. Hopefully, her kids will change their names when they turn 18.
