It’s been awhile since I have posted here. My husband and I were originally going to TTC#3 last [name]June[/name] and since my dad was very sick, we ended up putting things on hold. My dad ended up passing away in early [name]August[/name]. We were going to start again in the fall, but I decided that it was important for me to take care of myself for awhile because I was mourning the loss of my dad. It’s now been almost a year since we were going to start trying and I’m finally feeling like myself again and ready for baby #3. I have posted several times on this site for name suggestions and even after all of this time, I still cannot decide.
I have two children, [name]Trevor[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] (“[name]Addy[/name]”), and we plan to keep the gender a surprise this time around. If the baby is a boy, my number one choice is [name]Owen[/name] [name]Robert[/name]. I feel [name]Owen[/name] matches the feel of [name]Trevor[/name] (being Welsh) and [name]Adelaide[/name] (being an old classic). [name]Robert[/name] was my dad’s name. I have suggested other girls’ names in the past on this site (and created polls for my choices), but would like some new, fresh suggestions from all of you. The only thing I have decided on for sure is that if we have a girl, her middle name will be [name]Josephine[/name]. My dad’s middle name was [name]Joseph[/name] and both my husband and I have many connections to this name on both sides of our families.
So, berries, how would YOU complete my sibset? I would love to find a name that bridges the 3 names together… along with a name that flows well with [name]Josephine[/name].
[name]Trevor[/name] [name]Matthew[/name] ([name]Matthew[/name] is my husband’s middle name)
[name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Lauren[/name] ([name]Lauren[/name] is my mom’s name)
??? [name]Josephine[/name]
The perfect way to bridge your kids names would be to pick a name that is both medieval and Welsh… [name]How[/name] about…
[name]Guinevere[/name]
[name]Gwendoline[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] (nn [name]Winnie[/name])
[name]Isolde[/name] (nn [name]Sol[/name] or [name]Izzy[/name] so cute!!!)
I think [name]Isolde[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is totally stunning and sounds amazing with [name]Adelaide[/name] and [name]Trevor[/name]! That’d definately be my too pick!
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] definitely stands out. It has classic, timeless feel and goes extremely well with [name]Trevor[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name].
I love the way that sounds [name]Trevor[/name], [name]Adelaide[/name], and [name]Charlotte[/name]
I agree with pp about [name]Charlotte[/name]. [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] goes nicely with your subset, has good flow and is cute too! [name]Charlotte[/name] is quite a popular name though, does that bother you at all? [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] also has the vintage feel that would work with your sibset. [name]Mae[/name], too, but I don’t like the flow of [name]Mae[/name] [name]Josephine[/name].
Other ideas:
[name]Eliza[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Violet[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] (I really like this one for its flow and sound)
[name]Vivian[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Katherine[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
With [name]Trevor[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name], I like [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Josephine[/name], and [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] the best-- slightly old-fashioned and not too popular, but classic and elegant names. I really like the suggestion of [name]Violet[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] too. [name]Carys[/name]/[name]Cerys[/name] was the first Welsh name I thought of for you.
I think [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Eloise[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] are gorgeous and work well! I also like the suggestion of [name]Matilda[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]! Or how about using [name]Josephine[/name] up front?..I love nn posey!!
Might I suggest [name]Clara[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]? I really love the idea of [name]Clara[/name] with [name]Trevor[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name].
From your list, my favourites (based largely on flow with [name]Josephine[/name]) are [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name] [name]Josephine[/name].
Thanks for all of the replies! There are a lot of great suggestions here!
I’m especially liking [name]Violet[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Clara[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. My dad was a huge gardener, so I have thought of using a nature name (like [name]Violet[/name]… or [name]Hazel[/name]) to honor him. Also, I have always liked names that end in -a ([name]Clara[/name]).
I agree that [name]Charlotte[/name] sounds really nice with [name]Trevor[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name]. While I was in labor with my daughter, I was on the phone with my dad debating about names and he suggested [name]Charlotte[/name]. Again, it would be a sweet way to honor him for baby#3. Also, popularity doesn’t bother me this time around. I realized I worried about that too much with my last pregnancies. I just want a name I love.
I have fallen for [name]Eloise[/name] ever since finding Nameberry. My only concern is that when I have mentioned it to friends, I get mixed reactions.
I also like [name]Vivienne[/name] as it means “life.” However, I don’t think my husband is the biggest fan of this name.
If it helps, my name is [name]Kathryn[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] - but, I go by [name]Kate[/name]. I wanted to mention it as some of you suggested my name!
And yes… I have considered using [name]Josephine[/name] as a first name, but I think I prefer it in the middle.
Thanks again for your help! Please, keep them coming…
Really like the suggestions of [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Isolde[/name] with your kids’ names. [name]Isolde[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] is cute.
I have a love/hate relationship with [name]Gwendolyn[/name] too. [name]LOVE[/name] the name, dislike “[name]Gwen[/name]”…I would love to see it on someone else’s daughter!! Not sure if [name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] quite goes. Maybe [name]Gwendolyn[/name] [name]Joelle[/name]?
I love [name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]. It sounds beautiful. I also liked the suggestions of [name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Sylvia[/name] and [name]Miranda[/name].
