Adelaide & Lila

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!

I’m currently 12 weeks pregnant with baby #3!

I have posted on this site several times before, but this is the first time I’ve posted since becoming pregnant. I have a son named [name_m]Trevor[/name_m] and a daughter named [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] (who we call [name_f]Addy[/name_f]). We will not be finding out the gender this time around since we already have one of each. If this baby is a boy, I decided long ago that we will name him [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. However, even though I’ve been thinking about names for #3 since my daughter was born, I still can’t decide on what we would name another girl.

For those that have seen my posts in the past, my dad passed away about a year ago from cancer. I definitely want to honor him with this baby, so we will use his middle name ([name_m]Robert[/name_m]) with [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. For a girl, I plan on using [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] in the middle (his middle name was [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]… along with many other members on both sides of our families).

Lately, I’ve been leaning towards [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. I like it’s vintage charm and have always liked names that end in ‘a’ ([name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] was almost [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]). [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Lila[/name_f] “falls short” with a name like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]? I do think [name_f]Addy[/name_f] & [name_f]Lila[/name_f] make a sweet sister pair.

Other names that I always go back to are [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] ([name_f]Lily[/name_f]), [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].

Sometimes I think I put too much pressure on creating the perfect sibset vs. going with a name I love. My husband says he is pretty open this time around since he choose our daughter’s name. Thoughts/suggestions?

As always thanks for your help!

[name_f]Lila[/name_f] is shorter and a bit more simple than [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but it is just as sweet and beautiful! I think it is most important that you love the name. I don’t think they sound out of place at all. [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] would be my second pick for you.

What about using [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] as a fn with [name_u]Josie[/name_u] as a nn? [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Addy[/name_f] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u], make a really nice pair! [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a great combination too. While I like [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], I would probably do a longer fn to make it a little more compatible with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], and [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] all work well and would make a great sibset with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is another combination that I think would work well.

When I saw your title [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] & [name_f]Lila[/name_f], something about those two names together just looked so perfect! And I don’t think that very often…they just seem to fit! And [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is gorgeous!

I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] are perfect. They both are sweet & vintage sounding.

No sibset problems here! [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is adorable. Congratulations on your babe.

[name_f]Addy[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is PERFECTION. [name_f]Love[/name_f] it!!

Thanks for all of the feedback so far!
