[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! So beautiful.

I like [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] too but it has more of a trendy feel (I can’t not think of the spelling [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] which is awful).

I have a friend named [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] from [name_u]Brazil[/name_u] who is incredibly sweet. In Portuguese the favored pronunciation of this name is [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-duh-[name_u]LEE[/name_u]-nee. I don’t like the prn [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-duh-lin or [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-duh-line. Prefer [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-duh-leen.

Anyway, all that said, I think [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is far lovelier.

I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], I wish I could love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], but unfortunately all I hear is ‘laid’ and the teasing potential that would bring for a young girl.

I love [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. I feel [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] could ask for some teasing trouble, especially in the teenage years, with the last syllable. I’m sorry.

I like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] but [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] just seems trendy to me.

I prefer [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] has always look like [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] without the ‘M’ to me.

I like both but prefer [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] because it somehow feels softer to me.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] as it is also a place name

This exactly. I know [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is a Nameberry favorite, but my favorite is [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]!

I really love both, but think that [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is more real world approved. I have only met 2, but both times, I have loved it. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is so pretty in a European/[name_f]Heidi[/name_f] kind of way, but the masses will not appreciate it.

I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]. It is so sweet and cute, but I could see it on an adult as well. I love the “Sweet [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]” connection. I like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] too, I love its classy and its low popularity, but I like the sound of [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] better.

Go for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! I never even thought of the -laid part, so I don’t think she’d get teased for it (just my opinion!). [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] looks like you forgot the M in [name_f]Madeline[/name_f].

I love both. They have lots of charm and I really don’t understand the comments of [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] sounding trendy considering it has been used for hundreds of years. I think either one would be great! (And kids can tease ANY name for any reason so I wouldn’t let that deter you from [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f])
