Adelaide or Helena?

Because of you all, my husband and I were able to narrow it down to two names for our second baby girl arriving next month: Adelaide and Helena. However, we’re torn between the two! Which do you like best? And what would your suggestions be for middles? Her sister is Cosette and our last name is Olsen. Thanks so much berries!

Both are nice, but [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is definitely my vote!

Adelaide! Adelaide Olsen with sister Cosette is SO stinkin cute!!! I really love that. Very fresh and upbeat whilst still classic!

[name_f]Helena[/name_f]! I adore the dreamy, astral vibe  And it works perfectly with [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and I think it has a beautiful ring to it with your last name

Adelaides my favourite!

[name_f]Helena[/name_f] is so, so perfect with [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]!

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]!

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite name. It also goes well with [name_f]Cosette[/name_f].

I really don’t think you can go wrong with these two. Maybe wait till she arrives and see if she looks like one or the other? If you still can’t decide you could always ask your daughter to pick either [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] or [name_f]Helena[/name_f] once she meets her. I genuinely don’t think either name is better than the other- they’re both gorgeous.

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is such a beautiful and dreamy name :heart_eyes:

oh how lovely [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is with sister [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]! besides, the name has such an interesting history and mythology… it’s absolutely gorgeous!

Difficult one - they’re both lovely. I’m going to say [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] for the following reasons -

Flows better with your surname (doesn’t end in a vowel)
Has a similar ‘offbeat classic’ vibe to [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], whereas [name_f]Helena[/name_f], while lovely, is simply classic. I’d imagine a [name_f]Helena[/name_f] could feel a bit envious of her sister’s arguably more interesting moniker.

Ultimately you’ve narrowed it down to two lovely options, you can’t really go wrong. Best of luck and congratulations!

I love [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]! For some reason I can picture an older [name_f]Helena[/name_f] but not really a baby/child.

You can’t go wrong here. But [name_f]Helena[/name_f] goes/sounds better with [name_f]Cosette[/name_f], in my opinion.

Adelaide!!!

[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] with [name_f]Cosette[/name_f] gets my vote! :two_hearts:

Oh gosh I love both of these! I’d go with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] because: 1. [name_f]Helena[/name_f] has three different accepted pronunciations. (heh-LAY-nuh is the one I love.) 2. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] flows better with the surname. 3. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is one of my very favorite names. It’s elegant, bright, sharp, and beautiful.

[name_f]Helena[/name_f]!
