I am just trying to come up for a boys’ name option for baby #2. We have one daughter already and her name is [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. I’d love to do another slightly-off-the-beaten-track medieval saints’ name for our second, and I really love [name_m]Anselm[/name_m], but DH really doesn’t like this or any of the other medieval saints’ names I’ve come up with.
A category of names we both like, though, is Biblical names. Most of the ones we are drawn to are two-syllables and rank high on the Nameberry charts, like [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Japhy[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], or even [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] (since it’s mentioned in Revelation.)
I “hear” so much talk here about well-named sibsets, I’d love to find a name that goes well with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] that we both like. My question is, do those Biblical names I mentioned above work with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], or are they too different from her name? (FYI, we’ll probably go with an older European name for a middle, either way, because we want to use a family name.)
Or, if you have any other recommendations for a saint’s name that would go well with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], maybe we can bring DH around!
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is also a classic name, name with history, non-nonsense name, vintage name, long name, etc… You don’t have to choose medieval name.
I think [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] sounds the best.
I think a Biblical name with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] would be fine, Biblical names are in fashion at the moment so it won’t look strange, and [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is more of a traditional name than a modern one.
If you’re worried, what about a name with Biblical roots but a more up-to-date feel?
Off the top of my head:
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] (from [name_m]Elijah[/name_m])
[name_m]Zachary[/name_m] (from [name_m]Zacharias[/name_m])
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] (from [name_m]Barnabus[/name_m])
[name_m]Jonas[/name_m] (from [name_m]Jonah[/name_m])
There are bound to be others but I can’t think of any at the moment.
[name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
I think a biblical name will be fine as well! Like you said, it is a saints name, so there is that tie-in even if you choose a biblical name over another saint name. (I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] saint names by the way!) Of your options I like [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m].
You may want to check out this website: https://sanctanomina.wordpress.com/ [name_f]Kate[/name_f], the write of the blog, is awesome and always has cool information about saints names and even does her own baby name consultations (though she books up quickly so make sure to write to her soon!)

And I’ll run those other names by my husband and see if he can get on board with any of them
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] paired with a Biblical name just feels very [name_m]German[/name_m] to me. Something like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] or [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_m]Silas[/name_m] would be perfect.
[name_m]How[/name_m] cute would [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_m]Xavier[/name_m] be!
But I think my favourite name with [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] is [name_m]Simon[/name_m]. [name_m]Simon[/name_m] is Biblical, medieval, and a [name_m]Saint[/name_m]'s name. It’s also popular in [name_f]France[/name_f], like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. I love it!
I also like:
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]
[name_m]Matthias[/name_m]
[name_m]Jethro[/name_m]
[name_m]Rufus[/name_m] (I really like this, too. [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] and [name_m]Rufus[/name_m].)
