Personally I would just change it to [name_f]Ada[/name_f] since that is what you call her. I prefer [name_f]Ada[/name_f] over the options of [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f].
I pronounce [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] as rhyming with mine, so if that’s not what you want I agree with changing the spelling to [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f].
I would change it - formally or informally - to [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. That’s a truly elegant and beautiful name. I don’t think Erwyna (or variants) flows from [name_f]Ada[/name_f] or [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and potentially could sound/look like “a weiner” to someone not familiar with it.
If you’re super keen on changing the middle, you might consider another oceanic name, like [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Liberty[/name_f], [name_f]Coraline[/name_f], Delmare, [name_f]Celia[/name_f], [name_f]Maribel[/name_f], [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]…
I second the suggestion of changing her name to [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. You’re already calling her [name_f]Ada[/name_f] it’s less common than [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f].
Both [name_f]Ada[/name_f]/[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are gorgeous choices. If you love Erwyna, definitely use it, but I find it has poor flow with [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and I’m unsure of how to pronounce it.
Another vote for [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]!
Changing the spelling from [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] to [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] won’t change how common the name it is, and I think people might write “[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]” when they hear [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] because it’s what they’re used to. Plus [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is what you’d call her!
I vote changing to [name_f]Ada[/name_f], too!
I think it sounds like a lot of work for something you can remedy by sticking with the nickname. I know SO many people who NEVER go by their full, given name for one reason or another.
I love [name_f]Ada[/name_f] Erwyna [name_f]Grace[/name_f]! So beautiful and elegant. [name_f]Adeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] are far too popular. I pronounce [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] the same.
Not to throw too yet another option out there, but I would probably opt for the spelling [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f], rather than [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f]. It’s a logical long-form of [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and I think that spelling might be more common and intuitive (though I can’t say for sure). Another option would be [name_f]Adelin[/name_f]. Something about [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] just looks wrong to my eye. For what it’s worth, I know two Adalyns and one [name_f]Adelin[/name_f], all pronounced the way you pronounce your daughter’s name.
For the middle name [name_f]Grace[/name_f] has a better flow but I agree it’s too common - kind of a filler middle name. From your list I would choose Erwyna.
One name meaning for [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is “star of the sea”. What about [name_f]Adelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Molly[/name_f]?
[name_m]How[/name_m] old is baby?
I’d change the spelling for the pronunciation you desire and keep calling her nn [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. It sounds like you’re past the point where I’d feel comfortable changing anything else. Save the sea-loving names for a future babe
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is beautiful. I’m a fan of naming baby what you call them (within reason), so if you are going to call her [name_f]Ada[/name_f] I would just name her [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. I wouldn’t add the sea-inspired second middle, I don’t think it flows as well, and takes away from an otherwise classic name. I agree with a previous poster to save it for future use. Regardless though, what do you need to do to be happy with her name? Changing the spelling or sticking with it as is and calling her [name_f]Ada[/name_f], or just naming her [name_f]Ada[/name_f]–you do what you need to do to be happy with her name. That’s what I would do anyway.
