Adryana

I know, I know. It’s a butchered spelling, trust me I know!

Unfortunately I’ve haboured this fondness for it…I don’t know why or how.
Is it workable? If not, talk me out of my madness - point out all the reasons why not. :stuck_out_tongue:

EDIT: Oh, oh, what about Adriyana? hides in shame

I like it but I prefer [name]Adriana[/name] mostly because I said Ay-dry-ar-na

Aside from looking kree8tiv in the worst way, the -y changes the pronunciation from [name]Ah[/name]-dree-ah-nah to [name]Ah[/name]-dry-yannah. Y’s and I’s are not interchangeable. It isn’t the same name.

Having the word “dry” in it is enough to sway me, you have succeeded! Perhaps I’ll throw it into a story idea for use. :stuck_out_tongue:
All I can see is “A dry…”

I am vastly preferential to Adriyana. Adryana looks kree8tiphve, but Adriyana changes the pronunciation every so slightly to make it even PRETTIER.

Ay-dree-[name]AH[/name]-nuh

compared to

Ay-dree-YAH-nuh

I actually LIKE the second one! haha. It also looks more complete; Y is an iffy vowel at best, and the I keeps things cohesive and fluid.

Also, Adriyana > [name]Adriana[/name]

I second Adriyana or [name]Adriana[/name]

I agree with [name]Augusta[/name] [name]Lee[/name], it makes the pronunciation a little confusing.

When I look at Adryana, all I see is the word “dry.”

LOL to hiding in shame at Adriyana. Adriyana is slightly better than Adryana (as I hide in shame for saying it), because of course, [name]Adriana[/name] is ideal.

I like [name]Adriana[/name]. The other spelling is kind of messed up

I think that’s an awesome idea. I could totally see it working as the name of a desert like ancient or fantasy kingdom.
Kingdom of Adryahnia.

I have to just say that Adryana would be a very pretty name for a Dryad character (female tree nymph). In fact, I may “borrow” this name in the future. Putting it in my character name bank right now.

Exactly, lol. I’m putting together a fantasy story and I can see it in use as the name of a city, or ocean.

I can see the beauty in it. It feels like Illyria. Ancient but timeless. I think it’s stunning in theory but it’ll be perceived as trendy and cause spelling problems as well as some teasing.

I couldn’t decide if it was “[name]Ad[/name] ryan a” or “A dry ana”.

And don’t ever worry, we’re all mad here.
