My baby’s first name is [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], Pronounced ‘kwen-tin’. More often than not people mispronunce his name and misunderstand when I say it
I’ve started calling him [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] as his nickname. Is it a legit short variation? Thoughts on introducing his as [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] but keeping [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] as legal name?
I think it’s a totally legit nn. My godfather’s son is named [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and he goes by [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] or QT (cutie).
Yes, [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]'s the usual nn for [name_m]Quentin[/name_m].
[name_m]How[/name_m] are people pronouncing it? I can’t think of a way to say it wrong! [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a nickname for [name_m]Quinten[/name_m] for sure.
I’m sorry to hear it is being misprounced, I love that name! I think I would be a stickler and keep trying to use the full name but of course [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] can be used if you feel like it makes life easier. I liked collmcc523’s comment to refer to him as QT while he’s little!
I absolutely love the name [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is a legit nickname
I agree with pp, I have a cousin named [name_m]Quentin[/name_m], and he would sometimes go by [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] or Q. Or at least he did when he was younger.
i agree how can people get it wrong?
can they not read?
or have they never heard of [name_m]Tarantino[/name_m]?
it IS a legit nickname i guess BUT DONT [name_f]DO[/name_f] IT!!!
[name_u]QUINN[/name_u] IS [name_m]JUST[/name_m] SO DISGUSTINGLY POPULAR RIGHT NOW
make [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] work, its a great name
Sure it’s a legit nickname, I can’t see why [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] is so hard though!
Most people drop the T, so it’s like “Quen’in”, or something like that. It makes me crazy. Often people think I say his name is [name_m]Clinton[/name_m]. Or ask me to repeat his name. It’s frustrating. Thank you for the advice!
Really?! It’s a popular name where I live. I know several little Quentins! Never thought if it as a hard to pronounce name.
I like [name_m]Quentin[/name_m] and think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] works fine but I’d probably go with [name_m]Tin[/name_m] or Tintin as a nn instead.
Feels more whimsical and less expected to me.
[name_m]Tin[/name_m] is so cute! [name_f]Love[/name_f] that ![]()
I think it’s a perfectly legit nickname. If you like it, go for it!
