Aelwyd

Hello Nameberry! Lately the name Aelwyd has been on my mind and I’ve been pondering middles. I’d prefer a middle with an untamed nature vibe to it. It doesn’t have to be a word name, but that’s most likely what I will gravitate towards the most. One possibility I’ve been considering is Aelwyd Wildrose.

Thoughts on this combo? Suggestions for middles?

Thanks!

Pronounced “[name_f]ELL[/name_f]-wid”?

I like Wildrose generally, but I feel the sounds here are a tad repetitive.

Aelwyd Tearose
Aelwyd [name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
Aelwyd Bayrose
Aelwyd [name_f]Aster[/name_f]
Aelwyd [name_f]Ana[/name_f]ïs
Aelwyd [name_f]Ishbel[/name_f]
Aelwyd Roheis
Aelwyd [name_f]Tempest[/name_f]
Aelwyd [name_f]Briar[/name_f]/Bryher
Aelwyd Siskine
Aelwyd Campion
Aelwyd Foxglove
Aelwyd [name_u]Vesper[/name_u]

[name_m]How[/name_m] is it pronounced?

The way I’ve heard it pronounced is something like “ale-wyd”. I’m really horrible at typing pronunciations though, sorry!

@katinka: it is a bit repetitive, which is too bad because I love the imagery of the combo.

Aelwyd [name_f]Briar[/name_f] is actually another possibility I tossed around a little bit, so I’m glad you suggested it! I may have to reconsider that one. I also really like Aelwyd Tearose. Thanks for the suggestions!

P.S. I love finding new names on these threads. I’ll have to add Siskine/Siskin (I love bird names) and Tearose to my list even if I don’t use them with Aelwyd!
