Really different spelling for the modern name, [name]Erin[/name].
I think it could grow well on a little one, maybe difficult for one to spell.
Pronounced, ae(r)-yn. Thoughts name berries?
Afraid I’m not a fan of kree8if spellings. [name]Erin[/name] is a fine name spelled just the way it is.
I have a soft spot for the mythological name [name]Aeron[/name], however (it’s the source for the famous [name]Herman[/name] [name]Miller[/name] [name]Aeron[/name] chair). It’s an entirely different name than [name]Erin[/name], but the pronunciation is very similar.
[name]Erin[/name] is a little “dated” but it has a pretty sound. I don’t mind the spelling of [name]Aeron[/name] (as in the chair) or [name]Aerin[/name] (as in makeup woman [name]Aerin[/name] Lauder). [name]Arin[/name] or Airan may work too but I don’t like the trendy and random “y” in the name.
I prefer [name]Erin[/name].
I know an [name]Aaren[/name] that’s a woman and she’s had problems with misspellings and gender confusion, but she turned out confident and successful anyway.
I completely agree.
I actually like it - i can’t explain why it annoys me less than most creative spellings. i guess it actually looks nicer than they usually do? I know an [name]Arin[/name] and an Aaryn, maybe that helps too.
It’s way too much of a spelling hassle.
I know it looks like it could be a traditional Gaelic name but rather it seems to be accredited to be a modern American respelling of [name]Erin[/name]. I find this a bit odd - I understand choosing the original spelling in any language but if the most common spelling is the original I wouldn’t necessarily choose a creative spelling. In this case I’d make an exception if you were naming your daughter after the character Aeryn [name]Sun[/name] (played by [name]Claudia[/name] [name]Black[/name]) in the Farscape Series. And visually I actually like this spelling.
I do actually like the spelling of Aeryn, but that’s because I’m a sci-fi geek and I immediately thought of the character on Farscape.
The name will be constantly misspelled though. I grew up with a name that had an unusual spelling, I ended up hating it. So just bear that in mind, your kid might end up disliking the name because people are going to constantly misspell it and assume it’s [name]Erin[/name].
I really like plain old [name]Erin[/name]! If you want to change it I think [name]Aerin[/name] is nicer looking than Aeryn. Something about Ys just take the classic/classy feel out of a name imo
Being an [name]Erin[/name], I can tell you that everyone assumes my name is spelled E-r-i-n. I think spelling it Aeryn is just setting the child up for constantly spelling out her name and just general confusion.
I think [name]Erin[/name] is perfect just the way it is. [name]Fancy[/name] spellings don’t change the way people say them.
I’d go with [name]Erin[/name].
I prefer [name]Erin[/name] for a girl and [name]Aaron[/name] for a boy. Sorry!
Well I am actually called Aeryn, supriseingly most of my friends can spell it but takes them a few months to learn how to, I did get my name from Farscape because of my father loving the show. I really do love my name but I actually like it for the reason you dont, I love having people not to spell my name right and I love it how they cant pronounce it!
I think it looks pretty written, but agree, it would probably become a hassle to always correct the spelling. I do not like the name [name]Aaron[/name]/[name]Erin[/name] for a boy or girl though.
(No offense to anyone who is one or likes it. [name]Just[/name] not my style)
It may be an old-fashioned thought but when I was a kid [name]Erin[/name] with an “E” was a girl and [name]Aaron[/name] with an “A” was a boy, no matter what the spelling was.
I personally know an [name]Erin[/name] and an [name]Eryn[/name], both female. [name]Even[/name] though I’m not a fan of untraditional spellings, I think [name]Eryn[/name] has a nice look to it.
I also know make "[name]Aaron[/name]"s spelled [name]Aren[/name], [name]Arin[/name] (pronounced a smidge differently), and Airen
Though I’ve never met anyone with your suggested spelling, it does strike me as male.
I don’t like the look of Aeryn, but [name]Aeron[/name] would work, or maybe [name]Eirian[/name] for a little different sound.
