Thank you, all, again for all your help in searching for names that mean “rock” or “river” (a city that I do not want to name on the internet that has special family meaning for me and my family) and other non blatant nature names.
I have a few questions now.
I set-up a poll but will ask here also. Do you consider Ashby a boy’s name or a girl’s name? And do you prefer Ashby or Asher?
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you prefer [name_u]Roan[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u] or [name_u]Reid[/name_u] [name_u]August[/name_u]? All three names honor. I am loving both [name_u]Roan[/name_u] and [name_u]Reid[/name_u].
I am thinking on [name_m]Holden[/name_m] and [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] “[name_u]Rafe[/name_u]”. [name_m]Both[/name_m] names have been off and on my list. I have read pluses and minuses on both.
[name_m]Flint[/name_m] and [name_m]Heath[/name_m] were also suggested but I am unsure of my thoughts on these yet.
I love [name_u]Calder[/name_u], it’s meaning is “rocky water”, close to rock and river. I feel it does not work really well with my son’s name. I love it though.
[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] was suggested. I already loved [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]. [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] also honors my Scottish side of the family. The issue is my top girl’s name is [name_f]Livia[/name_f]. I am unsure if [name_f]Livia[/name_f] and [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] would work as siblings. Plus my current son’s name does not start with L. I would wonder if he would feel left out. Maybe I am just over thinking this. Thoughts?
[name_m]Pearce[/name_m]/[name_m]Pierce[/name_m]/[name_m]Piers[/name_m] were all suggested. This was the only name meaning “rock”. Which is the original spelling? I am not really liking the [name_m]Pearce[/name_m] spelling. I like both [name_m]Pierce[/name_m] and [name_m]Piers[/name_m]. I was thinking [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]/[name_m]Piers[/name_m] [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] would be a handsome combo. It would mean rock and land of the lochs, close to rock and river.
My top two boy’s names are [name_m]Espen[/name_m] [name_m]Rigby[/name_m] and [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. Besides the special family meaning and honoring, I like the softness of both [name_m]Espen[/name_m] and [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]. I like that they are not blatant nature names but are nature names. I like that they are not common but feel comfortable. My hunt was to find a name or names with the same feelings.
Sorry for such a long post and all the questions. I think I am done, at least for now. ![]()
