Does anyone like the name [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]? My husband really likes it! I’m less sold, but my kids also love it (thank you despicable me). It’s also the middle name of a grandma, so it’s familial.

I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. However, I’ve heard it shortened to [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] which I really do not like. I’d be hesitant to name my daughter [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] because if that.

I’ve never been a fan as it sounds heavy/clunky and just unappealing to me. I’m not a huge fan of “grandma” names so I may be a bit biased x-x
I love [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]! I like it better in [name_m]French[/name_m] (Agnès, said ahn-YESS), but I like it a lot in English, too. From your combos, I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] the best! I’ve been crushing on [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] myself, and the girly, more modern-feeling, almost exotic [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] really balances the more vintage [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] well.
The more generic [name_f]Mae[/name_f] makes [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] feel more dated, I think, and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] Immaculee (im-ack-yoo-lay?) is intriguing, but a bit too much unusual for me. I’d probably go with another [name_m]French[/name_m] name, maybe something like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], or [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]? Then again, I’m a fan of a more modern-sounding name to help modernize [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] a little bit. With another vintage name–like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] or [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]–it tends to sort of make [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] feel heavier rather than lighter, and I like the lighter feeling of it.

Me! I really like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. I don’t think of it as a grandma name, I think about the cute little girl from Despicable Me.

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is a very nice combo. It’s not that hard to make a good combo with [name_f]Agnes[/name_f], I feel like a lot of middle names sounds great with it.
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is probably my number one GP. I would choose this name in a heartbeat, but FI absolutely hates the name and everyone I mention it to makes a face, but I adore it. If FI wasn’t so cold on it, I’d probably try to weasel the name in…but after being together nearly five years, he hasn’t budged an inch on it, haha.
If I may, I really don’t like any of your [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] combos. I feel like Immaculee is very heavy with an already heavy name; [name_f]Mae[/name_f] is generic and makes it sound rather southern; and then [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] is a completely different vibe and feel than [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] all together.

I think [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] is just ok, Despicable Me has done a lot to make the name not sound so old in my mind haha. I think [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] sounds really nice.

Since I’ve began liking [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] has grown on me as well. It is soft, vintage, and delicate.
I’m not a huge fan (I also like [name_f]Agatha[/name_f] better) but I think [name_f]Aggie[/name_f] is adorable! I love your combo of [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] Imaculee!
