I just discovered this name today, and I am not a little obsessed. It has quite a few different accepted spellings, but I’ve found these three are my favorite, and I prefer different ones based on the names I surround her with. I love that she’s Romani in usage, and most of her purported meanings are super lovely (“truth”, “all truth” and “all peace” I especially love!). And best of all, I seem to LOVE her with three of the names I’ve found hardest to pair up lately!
What are your thoughts on [name_f]Alafair[/name_f]? Which spelling do you prefer, and what do you think of these three combos?
Alefaire is lovely and I like the meanings. I may be mispronouncing it but the “affair” sound in it is very obvious to me and that would put me off a little. I like the Alefaire spelling best, partly as it’s the furthest away from the who affair thing visually but also as it looks the most whimsical to me. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] Alefaire is beautiful - it gets my vote!
I love it! I actually added this one to the database [name_f]Alafair[/name_f] is my favourite spelling, although they’re all beautiful and intriguing. [name_m]Just[/name_m] the obvious disclaimer that the Hatfield-McCoy association is extremely tragic and quite a strong one, given the unusualness of the name, but I’m not sure how widely known that is and I absolutely think the name is usable regardless.
I like all of your combos, but [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Alafair[/name_f] really shines
Alafair is lovely. I think that is my preferred spelling, just because it’s the one I’m most familiar with. I really like [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Alafair[/name_f].
Well, I’m glad you did! I’ve gotten in the habit of creating name lists of the day and adding a new name to my list every time I close a case at work. Such a me thing to do but it gets me through the day so. I’m enjoying exploring some new-to-me names this week–[name_f]Fioralba[/name_f] was a new love on [name_f]Monday[/name_f], and now [name_f]Alafair[/name_f] today! I’m still trying to decide if [name_f]Alafair[/name_f] is a “me” name, but I am quite fond of her and love both [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Alafair[/name_f] and [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Alifair[/name_f]/Alafair.
haha! I did see [name_f]Allifair[/name_f] but I just don’t love it as much. Thank you for the suggestion, though!
