Alara Or Rose - And why?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] my passionate and supportive name berry friends!

I would love to know your ideas and feedback on the two names (both for first name). Which one you think is a better choice? I like both and go back and forth between the two, despite they are from two different words!

[name_u]Rose[/name_u] → classic, solid, sweet and slightly unexpected as a middle. It’s concise and safe

[name_f]Alara[/name_f] → bright, pretty, starry and magical. It’s lovely but it could be mistaken for [name_f]Elara[/name_f]?

[name_u]Rose[/name_u] is a long term fave of mine as a first. I find it so essential and beautiful, and with all its floral and storybook imageries.

I’ve never really focused on [name_f]Alara[/name_f] before. It has an absolutely gorgeous meaning and feels very sophisticated and glam. Generally, I prefer clipped names so I’d naturally want to trim this to simple and enduring [name_f]Lara[/name_f]. I also agree that [name_f]Elara[/name_f] is possibly more widely known - and, while we’re at it, [name_f]Elara[/name_f] feels more breezy and sweet, and rolls off the tongue more easily. [name_f]Alara[/name_f] is more buttoned up and proper to me.

So I think I’ll stick with [name_u]Rose[/name_u], [name_f]Elara[/name_f] might be more of a head-turner for me, but I’d love to meet a little [name_f]Alara[/name_f]. :sparkles::sparkles::sparkles:

Both names are so pretty! I might personally lean more towards [name_u]Rose[/name_u], but I like the sound and uniqueness of [name_f]Alara[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_u]Rose[/name_u], it’s such a timeless name with a beautiful sound!

I love [name_u]Rose[/name_u]. Timeless and beautiful.

[name_u]Rose[/name_u] 100%. It’s used so much as a middle, but we never get to see her shine as a first and I would love to! Dreamy, timeless, and sleek.
[name_f]Alara[/name_f] doesn’t feel very unique to me because of the abundance of girls names that start and end in A. (Alana, [name_f]Aliyah[/name_f], [name_f]Alicia[/name_f], Amira…) It just doesn’t stand out and doesn’t have the vintage, starry-eyed glamour of sweet and simple [name_u]Rose[/name_u].

Thank you everyone for your wonderful feedback and sharing your thoughts.
Does anyone know how I can have a post with more engagement from name berriers? [name_u]Or[/name_u] how to set up a poll?

Thanks so much for your feedback I appreciate your thought so much.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you perhaps know how I can have a post with more engagement from berriers? [name_u]Or[/name_u] how to set up a poll? I dont get many responses to my posts usually compared to some other posts I see on the platform.

[name_f]Alara[/name_f]! It’s stunning, unique but not complicated to say or spell (though some may assume Elara)

[name_u]Rose[/name_u] is lovely too, I like that it is short, but it’s just ordinary next to Alara<3

[name_u]Rose[/name_u] without a doubt. It’s timeless, elegant, feminine, delicate yet strong in it’s own way.

[name_f]Alara[/name_f]: it sounds like a made up name to me and has no musicality. Sorry

If you press the star/bolt icon (last one on right) you will see a drop down list of which one is the poll. I don’t know how engagement works on here but I’m guessing it’s firstly reflective of the question being asked (eg if someone is having a baby any day now, they’ll get a lot of help!) but also on whether you comment a lot on others’ posts. :ribbon:

Thanks. I dont have that, maybe bc i was not active enough

I like both a lot actually, I think [name_f]Alara[/name_f] [name_u]Rose[/name_u] would sound pretty. It flows better to me than [name_u]Rose[/name_u] [name_f]Alara[/name_f].

I prefer [name_u]Rose[/name_u].
