Albertine!

[name_m]Just[/name_m] heard this one and I really like it. Not sure if I prefer [name_f]Albertina[/name_f].

Another option is [name_f]Alberta[/name_f], of course, which has a bit more of a serious feel imo.

Not a fan of the obvious NN choices though - [name_m]Albie[/name_m]? [name_f]Tina[/name_f]? Ergh.

Normally, I love feminine versions of male names ([name_f]Thomasina[/name_f], [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]/[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]) but I don’t really like this one that much. Maybe you can call her [name_f]Alla[/name_f]? [name_u]Allie[/name_u]? [name_f]Betina[/name_f]?

I’d say this is a boys name, in fact I thought you opened the topic in the wrong place, sorry!

I find [name_f]Albertine[/name_f] to be a mouthful and quite clunky/choppy. [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] flows much more nicely [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. Could [name_f]Ally[/name_f] be used as a NN?

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Albert[/name_m] on a little boy, but I really don’t like it’s feminizations.

Of course it’s a girl’s name.

It just reminds me of the [name_m]Proust[/name_m] character, so I’m thinking selfishness, jealousy, horribly controlling romantic relationship, obsession… although that’s mostly on the narrator rather than [name_f]Albertine[/name_f], it’s still not good for me.

I forgot about the [name_m]Proust[/name_m] character. Also I remembered the nn [name_u]Bertie[/name_u], which would be cute on a girl, I think.

Adorable :).

Nickname idea: [name_f]Birdie[/name_f].

I much prefer [name_f]Alberta[/name_f] honestly which I think is beautiful. It’s got the same qualities of [name_f]Agatha[/name_f], and it has vague imagery of the landscapes of the province to me - green and icy.

  • tine names just aren’t really me (for the most part). I admit [name_f]Albertina[/name_f] is fun though.

[name_m]Albert[/name_m], the root of this name, is way too masculine. [name_m]Even[/name_m] feminizations won’t make it work on a girl, in my opinion.

[name_f]Albertine[/name_f] isn’t really appealing, I’m sorry! [name_m]Albert[/name_m] is handsome on a boy, but it’s feminizations are too masculine and clunky.

I absolutely love [name_f]Albertine[/name_f]!! I struggle with nicknames too though…perhaps [name_f]Betty[/name_f] or [name_f]Bessie[/name_f], or pp suggestion of [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]?

Ooh, I didn’t think of [name_f]Betty[/name_f], [name_f]Bessie[/name_f], or [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]!
