Alec

I am starting to love [name]Alec[/name] with the fn [name]Alexander[/name]… It’s Scottish, right? Wdyt?

I prefer [name]Alec[/name] to [name]Alex[/name]. I think it’s a nice name on its own, too. [name]Just[/name] keep in mind that if you did use it, people might hear it and think you’re actually saying [name]Alex[/name], not [name]Alec[/name].

it’s not my favorite, but i do see the appeal. if you like it, then there’s zero reason i can think of not to use it, kwim?

[name]Alec[/name] is so spunky! A lot of people would hear it as [name]Alex[/name], but I don’t see that as a big problem.

My grandpa was an [name]Alec[/name]- and I know a young man [name]Alec[/name].
The main issue is people remember it as [name]Alex[/name], called them [name]Alex[/name] and would even write [name]Alex[/name] on cards etc.
People who knew them didn’t of course, but it was more peripheral people and strangers.
Nevertheless, for that reason I am personally more interested in [name]Alex[/name] as I don’t want my son to have any issues with his name. Depsite a bit of sadness that I wouldn’t use my grandpa’s nn only the full name. Oh, and yes my grandpa was Scottish!
