Alessia or Anna?

We would like to select an Italian name for our daughter. The two names we’re deciding between are [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. which do you prefer?

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is Hebrew so if you are wanting an Italian name I’d go with [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]. [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] would be another good option if you’re still not sure about [name_f]Alessia[/name_f].

As above re heritage, but if just on names, I personally prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] but gee, [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] is so lovely to say! If you’ve got an Italian last name or any extra reasonto use it, I’d go for [name_f]Alessia[/name_f].

While [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is indeed Hebrew in origin it is one of the most common names in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] so I would not worry too much about its ‘heritage.’ Personally I prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] over [name_f]Alessia[/name_f].

Both names are lovely but personally I prefer [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] as [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is very popular.

I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. It’s simple yet beautiful. [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] definitely sounds more Italian and is also beautiful. You really can’t go wrong with either. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] would be my pick though, but I prefer classic names.

Both are lovely but I prefer traditional [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. What about [name_f]Annalise[/name_f] with [name_f]Anna[/name_f] as a nickname? (although I think it’s [name_m]German[/name_m].)

I love [name_f]Anna[/name_f], I think it would be beautiful on a little girl.

Definitely [name_f]Alessia[/name_f]! No competition. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is so common, and [name_f]Alessia[/name_f] stands out much more.

It depends how you pronounce [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Alessia[/name_f]> [name_f]Anna[/name_f] ([name_f]Anne[/name_f]-ah) FAR to popular in my area, even more so than [name_f]Emma[/name_f]

ZAlessia is much less common. I recommend it.

If you’re going for an Italian vibe, I’d definitely go w/[name_f]Alessia[/name_f] or [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f].
