[name_m]Hi[/name_m], I’m struggling to narrow down our list of names for our little girl coming soon! I’d love to know your favorite pairings out of the first and middles listed below. I just love all of these names and we can’t seem to narrow it down. BTW, our daughter’s name is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], so I know that might influence your picks (i.e., using another one syllable middle or not choosing another A name) but I’m much more interested in knowing which combo you think is the best without worrying too much about matching her big sister. That said, if you have any other similar suggestions I’d love to hear them!
First names:
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (my husband has vetoed [name_f]Emilia[/name_f])
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
Middle names:
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (can’t use this as a first)
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
I would go with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] myself. I love [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] as a middle, but it feels too long with the longer first names you’ve listed. I like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] best with [name_f]Audrey[/name_f].
Out of your list I like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] the best. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are getting a bit tired and I don’t like [name_u]Alex[/name_u] as a nickname
I really think that the length of the middle name is a non-issue. All the names on your list work, so just personal preference - my favourites for you are:
I vote [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. You might like [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] which are a bit less popular… [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] would be nice too.
[name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] (more than [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]) [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] (I like the nicknames associated with [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]: [name_f]Betty[/name_f], [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Liza[/name_f], [name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Buffy[/name_f])
I like the sounds of [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Claire[/name_f] but I am not sure I could use [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] because it’s so popular (but it is a perfect name).
I don’t love the nickname options for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and I like [name_u]Alex[/name_u] but prefer Alexie, [name_f]Lesia[/name_f], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] or [name_f]Lexa[/name_f] for [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f].
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] has the best nickname potential - including [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Beth[/name_f] and Zabbie - and I don’t mind it with a longer middle, like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. But I’m not sure I could pick it over your others if any chance of being a [name_f]Liz[/name_f].
Would you consider [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] as a first? [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is gorgeous, especially is she would go by the full [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. ([name_f]Cate[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f] feels a little too overdone for me). However, [name_f]CeCe[/name_f] could be a nice nn if you actually needed one. Sticking to the names you suggest, my choices would be:
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
Good luck!
Thank you all soooo much! Looks like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is the favorite. I do love all the nickname options and there’s something about “[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] & [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]” that just sounds right. <3
That’s awesome, as a frequent poster, satisfying to see a result!
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] & [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] sound gorgeous together, and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is a gift name - adapts to any personality and age!
