Alexis Kennedy

Too much? Also, is the meaning of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] a problem? Please be honest.

Ack so unisex cannot tell if boy or girl. [name_m]Brain[/name_m] meltdown. [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] says girl but [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] says boy? I don’t like the [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] politics link very much but I don’t know the meaning of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u].

Omg misshapen head? [name_m]Just[/name_m] why?

I just like the sound. It’s not like people are doing to go around asking my kiddo the meaning of their name, & they probably won’t even know the MM unless they ask.

That’s just me being honest. :woman_shrugging:
Of course you’re right.

I would assume this was a girls’ name (?)

I’ve met at least one girl called [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] (maybe more, I can’t remember) so I don’t think the meaning or political connections are too much. It’s probably not fun to discover that your name means misshapen head, but it’s not going to have any serious affect on a kid called [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]’s life.

Alexis [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] is sweet! [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u]’s pretty common where I live, so I don’t think the meaning is that bad? Also, [name_u]Cameron[/name_u] means crooked nose, [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] means blind, [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] means lame, and people still use those! :woman_shrugging:

The political connection doesn’t bother me at all, but I live in [name_f]Canada[/name_f], so that could be why. Presidential surnames are much less connected to the presidents here - here they’re mainly just surnames :joy:

I would assume girl, but prefer it on a boy. I don’t personally like the sound of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], but if you like it, use it. I think the meaning would put me off a little bit.

I love [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] - the meaning doesn’t put me off at all. (I’ve seen it worded as “helmet head” as well - I think I read somewhere that it has something to do with your hair/forehead looking misshapen after being pressed down by a helmet constantly, so it’s a way to imply that someone is a fearsome warrior, basically. [name_m]Can[/name_m]’t remember where I saw that though.)

Alexis [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] has a nice flow to it!

I really like [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u], but [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] isn’t my favourite. The flow is also throwing me off (I think because both are 3 syllables) and the names feels weirdly mismatched to me, though I don’t know why because they’re the same general style :woman_shrugging:t2:

I don’t think the meaning of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] is an issue.

I don’t think it’s too much and I don’t think it being “too” unisex is a bad thing either–who cares if it’s for a boy or a girl? Names can just be for everyone and that’s okay. [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] reads very much the same to me as [name_u]Alexis[/name_u] [name_m]Danniel[/name_m]/le, but sportier! I think it’s nice and approachable!

I’m a really superstitious person, so I wouldn’t use [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] given the alleged [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] Family Curse but I really love the happy, jaunty sound of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] and I think it wears really well on many different people. The meaning is so not an issue-- plenty of names have terrible meanings, and if misshapen head is all they’ve got? So fine.

It’s not my style, but if you love it I don’t see a problem with it. The supposed meaning of [name_u]Kennedy[/name_u] (I say “supposed” because name meanings are often uncertain) is not ideal, but at the same time the vast majority of people won’t know about its etymology.

It doesn’t appeal to me personally, but I don’t see any issues with it.
