We have an [name]Alice[/name] (3 1/2) and a [name]Harry[/name] (nearly 2) and now that we are officially on the baby making train again (yay!) I really need some help on #3!
So if you heard of these two names in the family throw me [name]ONE[/name] girls name and [name]ONE[/name] boys name that you would think is PERFECT!
@ sjwatson! Thanks! I am quite keen on [name]Rosie[/name]. [name]Rose[/name] is beautiful but because our surname is one syllable I think I need at least a two syllable first name. [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Oscar[/name] have been at top of our lists but [name]Oliver[/name] is really popular where we live now. though I think it is still a contender cause [name]Ollie[/name] is a really cute nn. Thanks again!
Like [name]Rosa[/name] a lot!
[name]Love[/name] [name]Leo[/name] but think husband has vetoed it.
[name]Sophie[/name] and [name]Mia[/name] out as close friends have babes those names.
[name]James[/name] is ok. [name]Evan[/name]âŚmmmmâŚnot really for me
[name]Eva[/name] is lovely. NN of [name]Evie[/name] is gorgeous. Yet it is so popular here. Along with [name]Ada[/name]/[name]Ava[/name]/[name]Ivy[/name] and all variations. Wish I could ignore all that though.
[name]Jude[/name] is a bit too soft a name for a boy for me. [name]Love[/name] a strong masculine name.
@littleredone thanks! Funny you also said [name]Jude[/name] like sapphires above. But too sweet a name for a boy. [name]Noah[/name] was vetoed by husband but still in my list. [name]Rhett[/name]âŚwell, I have this thing about choosing names that people (and I mean non-nameberries!) donât continually ask how to spell it. I like names that immediately identify gender and low chance of spelling it wrong. QuirkyâŚmaybe, but definitely my taste!
Too many variations of [name]Eve[/name] where I live. And with a one syllable surname looking for at least two in the first name. [name]Celia[/name]âŚhavenât thought of that name. [name]Will[/name] ponder it more⌠Thanks!
Thanks @ yolo199. Boys names: all âXâ names are out, as are any names that verge on the unusual. My husband dislikes âweirdâ names. So he would veto [name]Atticus[/name] and [name]Sawyer[/name]. The problem I have with [name]William[/name] and [name]Charles[/name] is that we already have in effect one âroyalâ name ie. [name]Harry[/name] so even though I am a fan of [name]Charlie[/name], I could never do [name]Charles[/name]. I went to high school with so many boys called [name]Brad[/name]âŚand didnât like any of them!
Girls names: [name]Lucy[/name] is my husbands #1 pick but Iâm not convinced yet. Otherwise we have family members with a number of other names. I would [name]LOVE[/name] to have [name]Violet[/name]âŚdefinitely need to put it out there more to my husband! Thanks for that one!
@millimm [name]George[/name] is [name]Harry[/name]'s middle name! Is a family name and is super adorable [name]Matilda[/name] is cute but living in Australia, [name]Matilda[/name] is just too Aussie! [name]Just[/name] couldnât do it.
Thanks @dreambelievelove. [name]Charlie[/name] is up there but canât throw another âroyalâ name into mix with [name]Charles[/name] :). [name]Ralph[/name]âŚinterestingâŚhavenât thought of that one. [name]One[/name] to think on. [name]Flynn[/name] is my best friends surname so canât do it. Too close.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]. Definitely on the list. Others are either friends kids names that we see regularly or âbagsedâ names if not yet with babe. But loving [name]Eloise[/name]. Thanks!
@beau123 thanks for contributing! When we had [name]Alice[/name], [name]Eliza[/name] was second choice. I just think they are now too similar to have a sibling of [name]Eliza[/name] with [name]Alice[/name]. Suggestion of [name]Eloise[/name] is fabulous though. [name]Love[/name] that one. [name]Poppy[/name] is very cute for a little girl but not sure for an adult?
[name]Peter[/name] is just a bit too plain for me. [name]Charlie[/name] is definitely on the list though. [name]Milo[/name]âŚcanât do it! Itâs a hugely popular drink here. In fact I drink it regularly. To me, itâs like naming your child coke ;). Husband would never agree!
how weird! My parents say if my brother and i didnât have our names now we would be [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Harry[/name], and somtimes i wish they chose those instead!
