We are stuck on a middle name for our soon to arrive 2nd daughter [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. We have three options, one after my grandmother, after babies grandma or combination of both. Would love your opinion!!
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Williamina[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] (combination of first two)
I’d use [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willamina[/name_f]. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] sounds too sing song to me, and I like honor names to be their real name. [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] is coming back into style and it just lends more importance to the middle than the other two do, in my opinion…
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is just adorable, but It seems to me more like a nickname rather than a full. You can use [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and nickname her [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] if you want.
I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! It nicely modernizes [name_f]Williamina[/name_f] and [name_u]Lou[/name_u], and honors them both at once. I like [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Williamina[/name_f] (I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] would be darling!), but [name_f]Williamina[/name_f], if it’s a family name, is nice, too. Would it be said the same as [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]/[name_f]Willamina[/name_f]? I think something like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] would be adorable, too!
I love [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Williamina[/name_f]! [name_u]Lou[/name_u] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] both feel off flow wise and I love how [name_f]Williamina[/name_f] compliments [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] from your options.
I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] sounds good too x
I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] best, but prefer the original spelling - [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] is more sophisticated than the others. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is nice, but it sounds childish to me, and your [name_f]Alice[/name_f] will grow up. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is nice as well, but for some reason it doesn’t sound right to me. My vote goes to [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is the best! [name_f]Willamina[/name_f] is too outdated and [name_u]Lou[/name_u] is a little short for [name_f]Alice[/name_f], but a combo of both works wonderfully
Thanks everyone. I do think phonetically [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Williamina[/name_f] (pronounced mina not mena) sounds best, but is old fashioned. [name_u]Lou[/name_u]… too short and I think of a toilet. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is lovely, but is it too modern and trendy for classic [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. Also the mix of two names isn’t sitting with me 100%. I also think if you are honoring someone you should just use the real name. We are leaning towards [name_f]Willow[/name_f] with [name_f]Williamina[/name_f] coning 2nd. So hard!!
