All about Anna

[name]Anna[/name] is beautiful

I think [name]Anna[/name] itself is beautiful, but I’m also a fan of longer names so I like
[name]Antonia[/name] (my number one for girls! With the nickname [name]Annie[/name]!)
[name]Annika[/name]
[name]Annalise[/name]
[name]Anthea[/name]
[name]Anwen[/name]

THANK YOU EVERYONE! You Berries sure do give great advice! I agree that [name]Anna[/name] is a beautiful classic and most of the times it is ‘the name’. In English and French it is very elegant and strong. But I have been asking some of my Russian/Eastern European and Latina friends and acquaintances and they all pretty much agree that [name]Anna[/name] is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy overused (one of my Russian friends said “every second Russian girl is [name]Anna[/name]”. Given we live in a large, multicultural city (Montreal), I question whether this is relevant. WDYT? Yup, I’m a totally neurotic name nerd!

[name]Anna[/name]/[name]Annie[/name] is on my short list. It’s classic perfection. Feminine without being fussy.

My first two have family names (both fn and mns), for my third, if she is a girl, I think I’ll be going for a name I love with two family middles. If its a boy, I’m totally undecided.

I don’t think you should be concerned about giving her two middles when your boys only have one.

I do love [name]Anna[/name] [name]Judith[/name] though. Very pretty, and in my mind slightly unusual, I don’t know any little [name]Anna[/name]'s around here (I do know a couple of [name]Annabelle[/name]'s).

It’s a strong short name, you could jazz it up with annalise, annalisel, [name]Annie[/name], Annalucia or go the other way and make it stronger ana

I am an [name]Anna[/name].
There were never any other [name]Anna[/name]'s in my grade.
I think my parents got the name from Tolstoy’s famous heroine

I have two suggestions for you. [name]How[/name] about [name]Josephine Anna[/name]? That way, you will get the family name in the middle, with the first name that you love. Another suggestion is [name]Annelise[/name] or [name]Annalise[/name].

Whatever your pick, you cannot go wrong. I love all of the names on your list, and [name]Anna Judith[/name] is just stunning!
(If you notice in my signature, [name]Anna Juliet[/name] is one of my favorite combinations.)

[name]Anna[/name] is gorgeous! My top pick is [name]Anna[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]. [name]Anna[/name] is strong, classic, pretty and feminine. I also love [name]Josephine[/name]! Agreeing with PP really all of your choices are beautiful, you can’t go wrong, but [name]Anna[/name] [name]Judith[/name], is just so spectacular, to me… It is classic, yet unexpected!

Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone for your thoughtful and insightful responses! As of today (but this changes daily), my top four girl names are [name]Anna[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Maude[/name] (pronounced Mode, the French way, as hubby is French and we live in a bilingual city). But my gut-feeling is that [name]Anna[/name] she will be (she just ‘makes sense’)…
I will certainly let you all know when we finally find out the sex of the baby (my u/s is booked for the 19th of [name]April[/name]) though!
Cheers and happy [name]Easter[/name]/Passover to all!

As promised… we found out its a boy (our third boy!)! Bye bye [name]Anna[/name]…
Looks like he will named [name]Simon[/name] [name]Felix[/name].

Thanks again everyone!
