Strange! thank you!
I love [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], it feels so much more elegant and feminine than [name_u]Allison[/name_u].
I’m in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] too and don’t know of any kids named [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] (admittedly I’m not around kids much), but quite a few who are my age, in their 20s. I know of a few girls my age named [name_f]Alison[/name_f] too, and a number of [name_f]Allys[/name_f] (short for [name_f]Alison[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] or a full name), but again no little ones. They do both feel rather 1990s with middle name [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]- I know SO many girls named [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]!- but going just off the first name, [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] could be any age and I would guess an [name_u]Allison[/name_u] was in her 20s.
For both names, I know some who go by their full name and some by a nickname. I don’t think you’d have a problem with using either.
I’ve never thought of the [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]'s [name_f]Secret[/name_f] association actually. It’s such a common name that it doesn’t make me think of anything or anyone in particular, if that makes sense?
I prefer [name_u]Allison[/name_u] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] because I think the flow of first and middle names are better than the [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] combination
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] for me!
I love [name_u]Allison[/name_u] with [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] more than [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], but I like the name [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] itself better. They both work though, personally.

I love the flow of [name_u]Allison[/name_u] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] and I agree with you that [name_u]Allison[/name_u] is classic–it was the name of [name_m]Chaucer[/name_m]'s Wife of Bath. I like very much like [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] too, so I don’t think you can go wrong, but [name_u]Allison[/name_u] is my favorite.
If I’m brutally honest I’m not fond of either. Both feel dated to me. However I did vote for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] :).
And as for nicknames, in this movie my little sisters watched, there was a girl named [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] who’s nickname was [name_f]Via[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Via[/name_f] can work as a nickname for [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
Thanks so much for the feedback and voting! It so helpful to get unbiased feedback
I prefer [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. [name_u]Allison[/name_u] and [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] are very common “mom” names in my area. I don’t think that makes them unusable…they are nice names, but they do feel very dated. A name like [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] has so much history it doesn’t have the same issue. Have you considered [name_f]Alice[/name_f]? Sorry, I don’t know the other names on your list but this would eliminate the son ending but also give you another royal name:)
I know one little [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and she goes by her full name all the time. I think [name_u]Rory[/name_u] could work well as a nickname if you wanted one.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] for sure. It’s a strong, classic name. I don’t think you need to worry about the [name_f]Vicky[/name_f] thing. I don’t think people are using it anymore. I like [name_f]Vi[/name_f] as a pet name though.
I went to elementary school with a stuck up, mean, trouble making girl named Allison, so the name is ruined for me. I know a little girl named Victoria, she sometimes goes by Vicky, if kids don’t tease about that, they’ll find something (my last name is Estes, not pronounced like testes). I also like “V” and Tori or even Ria better than Allie (just realized i also went to high school with an Allison, nn Allie, who was also really stuck up).
I’d rather be named [name_f]Alison[/name_f] with one L. I think victoria sounds a bit harsh, but I like [name_f]Veronica[/name_f], with is slightly harsh I guess.
[name_f]Alissa[/name_f] or [name_f]Alicia[/name_f] might suit you, and you don’t seem to adore either choice of [name_u]Allison[/name_u] or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].
If you don’t hate [name_u]Allison[/name_u]: [name_f]Alexia[/name_f], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f], [name_f]Elisa[/name_f], Alora / [name_f]Elora[/name_f], [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_f]Caitlin[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Taryn[/name_f], [name_u]Jordan[/name_u], [name_f]Jenna[/name_f], [name_f]Jillian[/name_f], [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f], [name_f]Jade[/name_f]
[name_f]Michaela[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Gwen[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]/[name_f]Anneliese[/name_f] , [name_f]Lorena[/name_f], [name_f]Leona[/name_f], [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] nn tess, tessa, reese, etc.
[name_f]Elena[/name_f] . [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] . [name_f]Elaina[/name_f] . [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] has been one of my favorites for years, but I can’t use it cause it sounds awful with my last name.
A character in a book I had when I was a kid went by “[name_f]Toria[/name_f],” which I always thought was pretty and spunky.
Update: Our [name_u]Baby[/name_u] girl is a week old today!! She was born [name_u]March[/name_u] 18th at 8:21pm. We ended up calling her [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f]!
We had decided on [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] before her birth (husband said he came around!) but when she was born he changed his mind face palm the week before she was born I began to have doubts about [name_u]Allison[/name_u] being an 80s name, and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] was third on our list. I’m having a hard time adjusting to it, but now I can’t imagine any other name!
Congratulations!
Congratulations, and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Michelle[/name_f] is really lovely!
Congratulations!! [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is one of my favorite names and I’m so glad to hear that you used it!
Love Clara !!
