alliterative T name

So forgive me if this is familiar to any of you as I went through this last year but ended up having a boy. I really love the girls name [name]Theresa[/name] with a nickname of [name]Tess[/name]. Problem is our last name is Tys0n. So is [name]Theresa[/name] Tys0n terrible? or terrific?

Could you spell it [name]Teresa[/name] and say Ter-ay-sa rather than Ter-ee-sa? [name]Tess[/name] [name]Tyson[/name] is cute. What are you choosing to break it up? That might make all the difference.

To me it’s alliteration that works. 3 syllables fn, 2 syllables ln, they don’t end with the same sound or have much other sound overlap (there is the s, but…[name]Theresa[/name] Trayson would be worse I think for example).

I love the name [name]Theresa[/name] btw. Good luck!

I think [name]Theresa[/name] [name]Tyson[/name] definitely works! [name]Tess[/name] [name]Tyson[/name] is too cute.

Thanks for the reassurance! We’ve thought of [name]May[/name]/[name]Mae[/name] for a middle name but aren’t totally sold on anything. I’m trying to avoid any middle names with additional "t"s or "s"s.

they both start with T and have the S in there too. to my ear [name]Theresa[/name] [name]Tyson[/name] sounds better than [name]Tess[/name] [name]Tyson[/name].

I know! The repeating “s” sound isn’t a plus. It’s very frustrating b/c my two favorite names are [name]Theresa[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name] and we’ve passed over both of them with our older kids b/c of the T-s T-S problem. [name]Thomas[/name] remains a non-starter b/c at least [name]Theresa[/name] has the extra-sylable.

I love the name [name]Tinsley[/name] hope it helped

I love [name]Theresa[/name] and [name]Thomas[/name]! And I don’t think that they sound bad with [name]Tyson[/name]!! Especially if [name]Thomas[/name] does by [name]Thom[/name] / [name]Tom[/name]?

I think it works because of the 3/2 syllables. And as pp have said there are similar sound elements but they are mixed up in a way that’s nice and usable. I say go for it!

I’m so glad that the response has been positive. I realized last night that we really have no number two. Hubby asked me for my top 5 and I drew a complete blank for a #2 much less #2-5.
