ALMOST no limits

So I thought it might be fun to list names we would use if we had no Limits (ie: your last name goes with everything, DH loves everything you choose, no other friends or other family names to interfere, you can use any name you like!)

Here’s the catch, these cannot be on your actual list anymore. So you must have a reason you can’t use them (at least the first name), and feel free to share the reason if you like!

Who knows maybe we will be able to pass on the names we love to someone who can use them!

Sooo… For the first round let’s see a boy and a girl

Mine:
[name]Phillip[/name] [name]James[/name] (P last name, can’t do PP to my kid, and [name]James[/name] is a step-family name)

[name]Mallory[/name] [name]Claire[/name] (DH thinks [name]Mallory[/name] reminds him of The Facts of Life… Sigh)

boys:
[name]Chester[/name]
[name]Henry[/name]
[name]Kenneth[/name] (too bad - [name]Kenny[/name] [name]Chesney[/name]) my dad’s name was [name]Kenneth[/name]. Would use it for a middle name maybe even though it is a lot like [name]Kenny[/name] [name]Chesney[/name]. But never for a first.

girls:
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name]

problem is my last name is [name]Chesney[/name].

Boy – [name]Lathan[/name] (my brother’s name is [name]Nathan[/name]. I would [name]LOVE[/name] to name a boy after him, but I would be too embarrassed to actually admit that to him…)

Girl – Kestrel (I love it, but my sister constantly makes fun of it and tells me that it sounds too much like “castration”…)

Girls:
[name]Olivia[/name]- too popular.
[name]Rose[/name]- Same as [name]Olivia[/name].
[name]Kate[/name]- I’ve known too many.

Boys:
[name]Thomas[/name]- same as [name]Kate[/name].
[name]Graham[/name]- stupid cracker!
[name]Theodore[/name]- leave it to Beaver to ruin this one for me.

Ballet, I have never once thought of the cracker when the name [name]Graham[/name] comes up! I think if you love it, you should use it! And I also [name]Love[/name] [name]Love[/name] [name]Love[/name] [name]Theodore[/name], esp as a middle because then you avoud nn [name]Teddy[/name]. My cousin just had baby [name]Isaak[/name] [name]Theodore[/name], and I think its so handsome!

I really like the name [name]Macauley[/name]…Home Alone ruined that one. My husband says he just pictures the hands to the face scream from Home Alone…

I think [name]Emery[/name] is cute…hubby says “you mean like emery BOARD?”

[name]Eva[/name] & [name]Jayden[/name] (girls)
[name]Peter[/name] & [name]Nathan[/name] (boys)

[name]Liam[/name] [name]Henry[/name]. I can’t use [name]Liam[/name] because last name starts with an “M”. It sounds like [name]Leah[/name] M_____ and not [name]Liam[/name] M_____!

[name]Dacy[/name] [name]Harlow[/name] [name]Jean[/name]. [name]Dacy[/name] and [name]Jean[/name] are family names and [name]Harlow[/name] is a name I fell in love with many years ago. It actually took a few weeks before I realized that [name]Harlow[/name] + [name]Jean[/name] = [name]Jean[/name] [name]Harlow[/name]! Oops =[

I’m in love with [name]Nova[/name], but my family made fun of it by saying “[name]Nova[/name] [name]Scotia[/name]?” or “Supernova?” but they didn’t ruin it for me yet!!!

Caberlai (Kaberle) - Got it from the hockey player [name]Thomas[/name] Kaberle. Parents thing its a stupid name and wouldnt suit them growing up. But so far its not off my list yet. And they dont like the spelling… think its too much.

[name]Emme[/name] - People think it doesnt sound right. Sounds like emma almsot which is overly popular.

Girls
[name]Harper[/name] (I loved it until [name]Victoria[/name] [name]Beckham[/name] named her daughter this, and since then it’s put me off)
[name]Isla[/name] Wen (OK, I really loved the name [name]Isla[/name] Wen together because I want to keep up my Welsh heritage, but Wen in English means white, and NO way am I having people call my daughter [name]Isle[/name] of White.)

Boys
[name]Hugo[/name] (My sister has just named her dog [name]Hugo[/name], so that’s just off limits now haha)

BOYS:
[name]Taylor[/name] - Partner’s ex.
[name]Michael[/name] - 6 family members already named that
[name]Patrick[/name] - Cousin’s name

No girls besides [name]Cheyenne[/name] because my bro’s wife named her dog that

[name]Dalton[/name] [name]Desmond[/name]

[name]Alice[/name] [name]Edith[/name]

[name]Milo[/name]: I’m not sure if its anywhere else, but in New Zealand its a drink. NNNNNNNOOOOOOOO!!! :frowning:
[name]Monday[/name]: “…bad case of the Mondays…”

~[name]Jasmine[/name]

Any name that starts with ‘P’ since my child’s last name would start with a ‘P’! There is NO [name]WAY[/name] I’d have my child’s initials as “P.P”. Too bad, because I [name]LOVE[/name]:
[name]Penelope[/name] ([name]Penny[/name])
[name]Petra[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Philippa[/name] ([name]Pip[/name])
[name]Persis[/name]
and [name]Patrick[/name]!

Oh, there’s so many…

Girls:
[name]Darby[/name]-my name’s [name]Darci[/name]
[name]Desdemona[/name]-can’t shake the [name]Shakespeare[/name] connection
[name]Astrid[/name]-there’s the problem with the first syllable
[name]Famke[/name], [name]Xiomara[/name], [name]Marisol[/name], Lluvia-way too many pronunciation problems
[name]Rowan[/name]-it’s the name of a prominent family in my town (there’s, like, 50 of them still in town)
[name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Claudia[/name]-my mother insists on using the Spanish pronunciation for these, which I’m not really fond of

Boys:
[name]Kermit[/name]-stupid frog
[name]Deacon[/name]-all 12 and 13 yr. old boys in my church are called deacons-[name]Deacon[/name] [name]Deacon[/name]?
[name]Icarus[/name]-do I really need to explain this one?

Girls:
[name]Emmeline[/name] (It’s one of my fave names but it’s too similar to my first name. Sigh.)
[name]Aria[/name] (Since Pretty [name]Little[/name] Liars, it’s become more popular)
[name]Lucy[/name] (I have been in love with this name since I was a little girl and all of a sudden the popularity has just sky-rocketed. Disapointing.)
[name]Fiona[/name] (Shrek ruined it for me.)

Boys:
[name]Finn[/name] (Too popular now)
[name]Mason[/name] (Too popular)

[name]Lacey[/name]. Can’t use it because my fiance’s last name is, well, [name]Lacey[/name].
That also eliminates [name]Dacey[/name] (SUCH a favorite!) and Jasey (a favorite of his)

I also love [name]Nathaniel[/name], but his name is [name]Nathan[/name] so I feel like it’s either [name]Nathan[/name] or nothing. Oh well.

Others:
[name]Arizona[/name] (entire family hates it)
[name]Stellan[/name] ([name]Stella[/name] and [name]Stellan[/name]?)
Mckinely (he hates it)

Boys - [name]William[/name] “[name]Liam[/name]” ~ a close friend used the name [name]Liam[/name] recently
[name]Deacon[/name] ~ I come from a very religious family, it’s too associated with a church title
[name]Riordan[/name] ~ Can’t do the nickname “rear”

Girls - [name]Marnie[/name] ~ my sister says this sounds like the name of a poodle
[name]Caelyn[/name] ~ good friend just named her dog this
[name]Madeline[/name] ~ this used to be an absolute fave, just too popular for my tastes now

Boy:
[name]Noah[/name] [name]Emil[/name] (first name from a best friend who passed away, but husband doesn’t like it… and middle clashes with my last name)

Girl:
[name]Percy[/name] [name]Agnes[/name] (husband hates both)
