I just met a wonderful women whose name was Alphonsine but she went by the nickname Fawn. I just found it so surprising and refreshing. And I absolutely love the dainty Fawn paired with the heavy/clunkiness of Alphonsine.
What is your opinion of Alphonsine?
What middle would you pair with with Alphonsine/Fawn
It’s certainly clunky, but [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is a brilliant nickname! It could definitely grow on me.
[name_f]Alphonsine[/name_f] [name_u]Jade[/name_u] is the first thing that came to mind for some reason. I like something short and sparky in the middle.
I slightly prefer [name_f]Alphonsina[/name_f] but [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is a fantastic nickname.
[name_f]Alphonsine[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] and [name_f]Alphonsina[/name_f] [name_f]Lilac[/name_f] came to mind.
[name_f]Alfonsina[/name_f] Strada was a very good namesake mentioned in also the book “Goodnight Stories for [name_u]Rebel[/name_u] Girls”. No matter the spelling… It is a beautiful vintage name with strong meaning and sound.
Oh wow, [name_f]Alphonsine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] is SO sweet!
Re spelling, I much prefer the -e ending: [name_f]Alphonsine[/name_f]. (Alphonsina starts to get a bit too long & slightly awkward, for my taste.) It could also be spelled with an “f” (Alfonsine), to pick up on the [name_f]Fawn[/name_f] connection even more.
I’d probably go for a 1-syllable middle, to balance the length, &/or something with a matching [name_u]French[/name_u] flavour:
[name_f]Trivia[/name_f]: the real name of the woman who inspired Dumas’ novel The [name_f]Lady[/name_f] of the Camellias was [name_f]Alphonsine[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!
