DH and I are expecting twin girls in [name]December[/name], and we’ve just started our “official” name hunt for them. I am a fan of slightly unorthodox names that are not in the top 1000 (I grew up as the only one in my class with my name, and I’d love for my girls to have the same luxury). I don’t know if you’d be able to pigeonhole my “style”, other than those criteria.
My top picks right now are [name]Winter[/name], [name]Sloane[/name], [name]Ivy[/name], and [name]Penelope[/name]. The middle names will be family names ([name]Annie[/name] or [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] or [name]Josie[/name]). The last name is a three-syllable Scottish “[name]Mac[/name]” name.
Well [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] aren’t the right choices if you want your daughters to have an unorthodox name not in the top 1000s or to be the only ones in their class with their name. I love [name]Winter[/name]. [name]Winter[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] would be beautiful imo!
love [name]Blythe[/name], [name]Wren[/name], [name]Zara[/name], [name]Temperance[/name], [name]Arden[/name], [name]Meadow[/name], and [name]Lark[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name] is preferred by DH - I’m mostly indifferent. [name]Winter[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] had run through my head a few times already - it DOES sound nice.
And judyariel, [name]Coral[/name] has been added to the list.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name]! I think [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] [name]Anne[/name] (or even [name]Winter[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name]? I think [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] [name]Anneliese[/name] would be stunning!) would be adorable together–[name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Winnie[/name]/[name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Winter[/name] are very cute for twins. A bit [name]Christmas[/name]-themed, but still really cute, imo. I think [name]Ivy[/name] [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Anne[/name]/[name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Lola[/name] would be adorable, too.
I [name]DO[/name] like [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] together… but does anyone else think it’s “too much”, seeing as they’re due at Christmastime?
I actually don’t like [name]Winter[/name], it’s always sounded more masculine imo. I also think [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] would be very christmasy…
I love [name]Winter[/name]. I really hope to give it to a daughter one day if I can just 1. Get my husband on board, and 2. Keep my daughter from confusing her with the Dolphin. lol!
I don’t think [name]Winter[/name] and [name]Ivy[/name] are too Christmasy, and even if they are they are gorgeous and [name]Christmas[/name] is a wonderful thing to be named for.
Theme names for [name]December[/name] babies are beautiful. Here are a few ideas:
[name]Hollis[/name] - dweller at the holly trees
[name]Winter[/name] - obvious and a very pretty choice
[name]Crimson[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Neve[/name] - snow
[name]Lucia[/name] - light
[name]Merilee[/name]
[name]Stella[/name] - star
I agree that [name]Ivy[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name] may be getting a but too popular. [name]Both[/name] gorgeous names, though. I think [name]Winter[/name] is really sweet and slightly more unusual. Other ideas:
