I love the name [name]Eleanor[/name] and my husbad loved it too! UNTILL HE SAW [name]HOW[/name] IT WAS SPELLED… e[name]LeANOr[/name]… he is hispanic and ANO is… well its anus…
Now I am not a huge fan of younique spellings but I have no issue using an alternative ESTABLISHED spelling (as we did with our son [name]Josef[/name]) and i know [name]Eleanor[/name] has quite a few alternative spellings SO… my question is which is your prefered alterate spelling of [name]Eleanor[/name]??? ([name]One[/name] that would elimintae the word ANO from the middle of it)
If you don’t like [name]Eleanor[/name] I would go with [name]Elinor[/name]
[name]Elinor[/name] is actually my favorite spelling of this name.
I agree, [name]Elinor[/name]. I personally prefer [name]Eleanor[/name], but I can understand your husband’s issue with it, and I think [name]Elinor[/name] is a lovely alternative (plus, the lovely Miss Dashwood makes it so appealing!).
I prefer [name]Elinor[/name] to [name]Eleanor[/name]; the latter looks so extra-vowel-y and stodgy to me where [name]Elinor[/name] looks clean and light (and [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name]-y!).
Since I am Hispanic, I prefer the [name]Elinor[/name] spelling as it gets the pronunciation you want in both languages.
[name]Elinor[/name] is my preferred alternative.

Of spelling variants, I like [name]Elinor[/name], Eleonor, and [name]Eleonore[/name]. Of variations, I really like [name]Eleonora[/name], [name]Leonore[/name], [name]Lenore[/name], and [name]Leonor[/name], too.
I prefer [name]Elinor[/name]. I prefer [name]Eleanor[/name], but if you’re husband really has a problem with it, I’d definitely go with [name]Elinor[/name].
I think [name]Elinor[/name] works exceptionally well with [name]Josef[/name]. I actually think that [name]Elinor[/name] looks a lot better than [name]Eleanor[/name] considering the spelling of her big brother’s name.
‘[name]Josef[/name] & [name]Elinor[/name]’ look great together as a sibset. The phonetic nature of [name]Elinor[/name] will also make it better suited to pronunciation by a speaker of a hispanic language.

I think [name]Elinor[/name] is the way to go. I hadn’t seen [name]Elenore[/name] before, but that’s an option too.
The [name]Leonor[/name] variants may work as well, but to me, those look a lot more masculine if you care about that sort of thing.

I’m not sure if you need the exact pronunciation of [name]Eleanor[/name], and if that’s the case, then [name]Elinor[/name] is probably your best bet. If you’re open to variants, I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Leonor[/name], Elionor, and Eleonor.
