Alternative to Glenda?

I have been thinking about names for future babies (when aren’t I thinking about that?) and was thinking about how much I adore my husband’s Grandma however her name isn’t one I would ever [name]EVER[/name] use! Her full name is [name]Colleen[/name] [name]Glenda[/name] but she has been called [name]Glenda[/name] her entire life. Any ideas about how we could honour her without using her actual names?

Well, there’s [name]Glenn[/name]. Or other names with [name]Glen[/name] in them. Or sound alike names. Or names with the same meaning.

[name]Glen[/name]- names:

[name]Glenna[/name] (very pretty)
[name]Glennisha[/name]
Glenwen
[name]Glenys[/name]

Sound alike:

[name]Linda[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Brenda[/name]
(and all that lot)

Similar Meaning (pure, good, fair) :

Amala
Bistra
[name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Lucasta[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Agatha[/name]

[name]Aeronwen[/name]
[name]Blanche[/name]
[name]Guinevere[/name]
[name]Gwendolen[/name]
[name]Gwyneth[/name]
[name]Mairwen[/name]

Like any of those?

[name]Gloria[/name]
Gloriana
[name]Gwendolen[/name]

[name]Colette[/name] [name]Glenn[/name] is pretty!

[name]Glenna[/name] could be cute too.

I love [name]Glenda[/name], but that’s just me!

Would [name]Gia[/name] count? It gives you the first and last letters of her name.

[name]Greta[/name] came to mind. [name]Love[/name] that. Also, [name]Colleen[/name] would be nice.

Here are some names that sound similar (not sure how close you want it to be to [name]Glenda[/name]):
[name]Linda[/name]
[name]Melinda[/name]
[name]Lucinda[/name]
[name]Gloria[/name]

Thank you!
It never even occurred to me that I could use [name]Glenn[/name] as a mn for a boy! I can’t believe that didn’t occur to me.

I adore the name [name]Gwendolen[/name] but my husband doesn’t think it goes well with [name]Elizabeth[/name] and [name]Annabelle[/name] but I might eventually be able to talk him into it

My name is [name]Glenys[/name]. So, I recommend that.
Have you considered [name]Glinda[/name], like the good witch from [name]Wizard[/name] of [name]Oz[/name]?

I think [name]Gwyn[/name] would be a great choice since it has a very similar meaning to [name]Glenda[/name] and a similar sound and background.

[name]Glynnis[/name] would be a good choice.
